Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

These are the next 6 league games -

Sat 2nd Jan - Huddersfield Town (Home)
Tue 12th Jan - Sheff Wed (Away)
Sat 16th Jan - Notts Forest (Away)
Sat 23rd Jan - MK Dons (Home)
Sat 30th Jan - Wolves (Away)
Sat 6th Feb - Rotherham (Home)

The away games look tough and is highly unlikely we'll pick up any points which makes the home games crucial, even more so considering they are all teams down at the bottom.

I think these next 6 games will define our season. If we lose them, especially the home games, we will be well and truly buried, but if we can take points off those around us we will have a fighting chance.

I know it's difficult to know what team we'll be putting out by the time February rolls around, which could have a bearing, but how do you think we will fare points wise?

I reckon 7 of of 18. Two wins and a draw from the home games and lose all the away games.

We need to win our next game, that is all we can focus on. Beat Huddersfield and there is some momentum, then worry about Sheff Weds, we have a great record there recently so why not.

the 3 home games are against teams around us so we need to win these to even stay in relative touch. Can't see much on offer from the 3 away games though

No way will other teams be as foolish as Rovers in terms of the amount of long ball shite they feed Wheater.

Huddersfield will have Wells up top who will no doubt make us look slow at the back again.

I can't see us winning any of those 6 games.

Are you telling me that beating teams like Huddersfield and Rotherham is beyond the realms of possibility ?

On the current evidence, yes.

Have you forgotten the last time we played Rotherham already?

My predictions

Bolton Wanderers 1 - 0 Huddersfield Town

Sheffield Wednesday 2 - 1 Bolton Wanderers

Nottingham Forest 1 - 1 Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers 2 - 0 Milton Keynes Dons

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 1 Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers 1 - 1 Rotherham United

Eight points from a possible eighteen. Obviously I'd like more as we all would but I believe it's a realistic assessment of likely results. It may be enough to get us out of the drop zone but even if it's not it should at least keep us in touch with the other teams around us. However, it should be noted that my predictions are based on us retaining the current squad, particularly Clough, Vela, Mavies and Amos and keeping them all fit. Since this is Bolton Wanderers I can't claim I'm particularly confident we'll be able to do that and if we can't then I fear we could wind up being completely adrift come February even if we do avoid administration.

You didn't have one "paragraph break"

On the current evidence, yes.

Have you forgotten the last time we played Rotherham already?

We've been relegated for months. It'll take more than a win against Rovers and Huddersfield - we need a miracle. Our only chance is if someone buys the football club within next week or so, but ED is making it extremely difficult for anyone to do that.

Supporters will have to make their frustrations known and ask for Birch to go. Bloke is making money on backs of BWFC while club goes down the toilet. No one with any serious money wants to buy the club and they're all waiting for admin.

We should have gone into admin 2 - 3 weeks ago if we wanted to stay up. We didn't and the club will find it difficult to survive the season. In fact the doors could be closed for the final time after the Huddersfield game.

Bye, Bye BWFC, it's been nice knowing you, you'll be sadly missed but
we will have to begin life in the Conference as Bolton City / Rovers or even Bolton Tigers

A lot of speculation and a touch of nonsense there FOS.

I agree we need a massive change in both luck and performance to have any chance of survival and a narrow win against a very poor Rovers side is well short of what will be required in the tougher games ahead. But at least we haven't rolled over yet.
Relegation is likely but not definite yet.

Haven't seen any evidence of ED blocking the sale and it wouldn't be in his interest to do so - unless potential buyers are planning to cash in and piss off - in which case he would be doing it to protect the club as well as his investment.

Going into admin would mean certain relegation with a 12 point deduction and a firesale of assets so I don't get why you think it would be a good thing.

Even if we are taken over, there is likely to be a firesale anyway - but the impact could be minimised if it's handled right and we could limp away with the bones of the club intact.

The situation is very, very bad and we are really going to suffer - of that there is little doubt. All that is being debated now is how much we are going to suffer and for how long.

But there is still a choice albeit between bad and really bad.

Turning away another potential 500 paying punters for the Huddersfield game isn't probably the wisest thing to do at the moment, what with money being so tight that we can't pay any wages or bills owed.

So, of course, that's what they've just done.......

What a miserable f***** you've become.

Back in June when we were predicting where we'd finish this season, I and one or two others were writing that survival should be our target.

You wrote:

"You utter twats. Every real fan starts the new season expecting promotion. And this season is no different.

Targeting anything lower is shameful."

Add to that you can't be arsed to write a BEL when we beat our local rivals and the constant stream of negativity and abuse you vomit all over these pages and I really am starting to worry about you. Something has definitely changed. What's up?
