The Bookmakers are way off the mark – Ryan Giggs will not be Wanderers' next manager.

The Whites are expected to unveil Neil Lennon's successor today but, despite the Manchester United winger-turned-assistant manager being ahead in the betting odds, at one stage reaching 1/5, he is not, and has never been, in the running for the position.

Giggs is said to be on the verge of leaving United after three decades at Old Trafford as he is unlikely to have a role in Jose Mourinho's new regime there.

But rumours that the Welshman will take over at Bolton have now been dismissed by Lee Anderson, son of chairman Ken Anderson and part of Wanderers' player recruitment department.

"He has not applied and I think he is still under contract at Manchester United," he told The Bolton News.

"We have not approached him or the club at any stage either."

Which poses the question of just who the club will appoint as manager.

A final interview, with just one candidate, was scheduled for last Wednesday and it is understood an announcement is – finally, after 12 long weeks of waiting for supporters – due this morning.

Long-time front-runners for the job have been Brian McDermott and Nigel Adkins, although former Wigan and Leeds boss Uwe Rosler and Chorley-born Phil Parkinson, currently in charge at Bradford City, could also be in the frame.

Parkinson led Bradford, then in League Two, to the League Cup final in 2013 and, having taken unfancied Colchester up to the Championship in his first managerial role in 2006, could be seen as an ideal fit for the club's owners.

However, compensation could be an issue as he is currently still employed at Valley Parade.

Meanwhile Wanderers have confirmed details of two pre-season friendlies for their summer training camp in Scandinavia.

The Whites will face Danish First Division side HB Koge on July 6 at the Herfolge Stadion and, three days later, will take on another Division One side, FC Helsingor at Helsingor Stadion.

With a packed pre-season schedule, the club's only home friendlies see them play Burnley on Tuesday, July, 26 (8pm kick-off) and Preston North End the following Saturday (July 30) at 3pm.

Like I said I'll believe it when I see the Press Conference introducing the manager and not before.

"Giggsy...? Hi, it's Ken.

Ken........

Anderson.........Yeah, him.

You know Lee Sharp, don't you? What's he doing these days?

Has he got his Pro Licence?

Ah....shame.

Well, we'll worry about that later.

Have you got his number?"

Rumours abound that Messi and Ronaldo have got bored playng against each other and want to play on the same team. Ronaldo has told Messi that he'd look cool in a white shirt and that Bolton is THE place to be if you want to be seen as completely hip.

Unfortunately the League has said that two hob knobs and a cup of tea each  is against the terms of our embargo but they're willing to allow us to sign them if they cut it to two hobknobs and a pot of tea between them.

And Pep Guardiola has changed his mind about Man City because he doesn't like blue. Jose Mourinho is going to be his assistant because he's decided he doesn't like red and both of them want to stay in the North West so they signed a one year rolling deal with BWFC for 50 pence a year this morning.

I know this is all true because Marc Iles, Nixon and the LoV suite have not said a word about it. Wanderers' new manager to be unveiled today Icon_smile

:drwho: Hot news! I can confirm that the club issued a statement on the 7th June 2116 in which Ken Anderson IV and Dean Holdsorth V said the search for the new manager is over and a name will be announced today! Rumours that Pep Mourinho, legendary android manager of Cyborgs United is definitely not coming to the club as he likes the Andromeda Galaxy and his family are settled there.

In other news the BN understands that the transfer embargo may be a barrier to candidates interested in the job and will be looking at ways to either work around it or have it lifted although the Football League's controller Hal 9009 says they are still waiting for the books Ken's great great grandfather promised them.

If this assistant manager is so important, why don't they send him a bloody email or something. I also assume he's already partnered with the prospective boss, and presumably out of a job as well, so what's the problem ?

:drwho: 06/06/2216 AD KenDean clone 666 announced today that BWFCC (bolton Wanderers Football Clone Club) has been unsuccessful in convincing any of the Alfergie or BigSam clones to take the job as manager. Sources within the club say it's because KenDean666 was unable to successfully clone Dorishobknob to their satisfaction. Meanwhile Hal 10K2.8 has stated that the "extra-clone" embargo against BWFCC is still in place due to the still missing, now believed mythical books.
