George Osborne 'was sacked by May'

Breaking: George Osborne was sacked. Theresa May told him she didn't want him in her Cabinet. Wow.

(Same link but earlier posting on it).

It's like putting Boris Yeltsin in charge of a brewery.

I get why she'd want to give him a job in cabinet - unity and all that.

But Foreign Secretary?!?!

She should have done what Labour did with Mandelson and made him a Minister Without Portfolio.

That way she could have kept an eye on him by making him sit in the corner of the Cabinet Office in a dunce cap whilst they all threw their shoes at him.

Can you imagine this prick flying out to Moscow to hold emergency peace talks in the hope of averting the threat of a nuclear war?

Fuck me......

Who is Amber Rudd, the new Home Secretary

New Home Secretary Amber Rudd has come a long way since working as "aristocracy co-ordinator" on film comedy Four Weddings And A Funeral.

The former investment banker, venture capitalist, and financial journalist, 52, decided to enter politics in her 40s in order to get "a grip on her life".

The sister of leading Remain campaigner and businessman Roland Rudd, she quickly joined the fast track to the top after being elected to Parliament as MP for Hastings and Rye.

She was seen as a protege of then Chancellor George Osborne, serving as his parliamentary private secretary before being promoted to junior minister at the Energy and Climate Change department in 2014, then entering Cabinet as secretary of state for the same brief just last year.

The ex-Cheltenham Ladies' College pupil, and Edinburgh University history graduate, has a son and a daughter from the five years she was married to columnist AA Gill, who used to refer to her as "the silver spoon" in his restaurant reviews.

He's just royally pissed off half the foreign ministers he's going to be working with by blagging the country into a Brexit vote.

Fox to be 'international trade minister

Liam Fox is expected to be appointed to the new role of international trade minister, presumably to drum up business for British firms rocked by Brexit.

Stop it now........please.

How the fuck did we get here?

6 months ago everything was normal - shit (because the Tories were in charge) but at least it was normal.

The world's gone mad.

David Davis is Brexit Secretary

David Davis will become Secretary of State for Brexit, Downing Street said, a newly created role.

Who is Brexit secretary and what will he do?

David Davis was Europe Minister in the early 1990s and has since served as shadow home secretary, famously quitting as an MP over civil liberties, a cause he has campaigned hard for over the years.

Details about the new Brexit department are still emerging, but it is likely to take the lead in negotiating Britain's departure from the EU and unpicking the thousands of pages of EU rules written into UK law.

Theresa May was reported to have ordered civil servants to find a building for the new department.

David Davis two days ago: "The ideal outcome, (and in my view the most likely, after a lot of wrangling) is continued tariff-free access."

Philip Hammond: A new broom at the Treasury

Speaking to a senior figure in the banking world this morning, he had nothing but praise for Philip Hammond, the new Chancellor of the Exchequer.

He told me when Mr Hammond was shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, the MP for Runnymede and Weybridge did "a lot of the heavy lifting" when it came to working out the Conservative plan for tackling the UK's economic challenges.

Cut the deficit and shrink public sector expenditure was the route alighted upon.

At the time a fiscal hawk of the George Osborne variety - and a big fan of the European Union single market to boot - Mr Hammond is going to have to find a new tone.

Tweet from Farage -

The appointment of @DavidDavisMP & @LiamFoxMP to Brexit and International Trade roles are inspired choices. I feel more optimistic now.
