Looks like we have bags of goals in us, I fancy another 100 goal season.

Is this the lowest day in our history?

Told that there are 221 Bolton fans at today's game. Not many will be particularly pleased with 2nd half - but it's pre-season I suppose. - Iles

I think the Burnden Park Disaster just about edges this out for the lowest day in our history.

I meant in football terms. Seems the team have continued where they left off.

I know it's only pre-season, but where is the rule that says you can't beat these crap teams?

If we lost to a league two club in a competitive game 2-0, fair enough, it would be a very low point in our history, and I agree this is an embarrassing socreline, but when you field 22 players, a number of them kids, including many unfit players, it's not really fair to take it that seriously. If we're as bad as this come the actual competitive season, you'll have plenty of opportunities to be despondent and show us your finest fault finding form.

I'm sure Hamilton were doing exactly the same as Bolton.

I'm a firm believer that winning breads confidence, regardless of the opposition or competition.

I believe this was Hamilton's fourth pre-season friendly, and that they didn't make 11 changes. I'm not excusing the result, I'd be thoroughly hacked off if I had gone, as I had considered doing, I'm just saying it's not the end of the world.

Regarding your second point, recent history contradicts that. We had an amazing pre season under Sammy Lee, and a very good pre-season this time last year, and in both cases got off to horrendous starts to the season.

I'm not buying any excuses......this is 2 months removed from being a premier league team. On ong leg we should be able to pass the ball all around teams like this. A winning attitude is something to instill into a team whether playing friendly's or twiddly winks.
Millwall scored 4 the other day and Burnley scored 4 today in their respective friendly's.
What does that mean ......probably nowt...... but wouldn't it feel nice to have put 3 or 4 past our opposition.

Exactly. If you lose 2-0 at Hamilton do you go into your next game thinking we're gonna put four past this lot. No, you're apprehensive and scared to take risks.

Good, because nobody's making any excuses. I said in my most recent post "I'm not making excuses".

Live long and prosper, etc.

I'm still in the camp of it's only a friendly, however I would have been far from impressed if I had decided to follow us around scotland and not see us put a single goal past Ayr and Hamilton.

It sounds as though it's the same old story of not being able to convert our chance.

We conceded goals when we took Bogdan out of the goal and put Knight into the defence. Just something to note.

To be fair, Hamilton do have a very good home record.
