ADAM Le Fondre made it four goals in three starts for Wanderers – but it was his work-rate that most impressed manager Phil Parkinson.

The on-loan striker had fans chanting his name throughout Saturday’s 2-1 win against Northampton, and scored a crucial equaliser from the penalty spot.

While Parkinson is pleased to see Le Fondre has found his shooting boots, he believes the 30-year-old’s attitude has been one of the major contributing factors to the team’s winning run.

“Alfie was absolutely tireless and it’s no wonder our supporters love him because he’s getting goals but he’s also running himself into the ground for the team,” he told The Bolton News. “I’m delighted with his contribution.

“There was a buzz about the stadium and there was a buzz in the dressing room too. I think the lads realised what an important win that was.”

Filipe Morais grabbed the winner, capping off an incredible seven days in which he also made seven goals for his team.

The winger finished off a fine team move with five minutes remaining to earn three points, putting Wanderers back into the automatic promotion places for the first time since January.

“It was big for Fil,” Parkinson said. “All players want a goal. His energy has been incredible and it’s a demanding position at wingback.

“Equally, you have to give Andy Taylor credit for the cross. He puts a lot of work in getting up and down, he has a great left foot and picked Fil out in a position where we needed him to be.”
