WANDERERS are set to give ex-Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs a permanent deal – and have vowed to fend-off any interest in Mark Beevers.
Phil Parkinson has decided to offer 29-year-old centre back Hobbs a one-year contract after he impressed on an extended trial this summer.
It is hoped his contract can be sorted in the next couple of days, leaving him clear to join the squad for this weekend’s Championship kick-off against West Brom.
But the Bolton hierarchy says Hobbs’ signing does not affect their desire to hold on to Mark Beevers, who has attracted interest from Rangers and Blackburn Rovers.

No bids have been received for the former Sheffield Wednesday man, who became one of Phil Parkinson’s first signings at Wanderers when he arrived in 2016.
And Ken Anderson confirmed yesterday that he would not welcome any interest in a player who has been one of the cornerstones of Parkinson’s side over the last two seasons.
Beevers was almost ever-present last season, triggering a one-year extension to his contract, has been eyed as a potential alternative to Charlton Athletic’s Patrick Bauer by Rovers boss Tony Mowbray.
Wanderers also hope to be given the green light by Everton this week to bring Antonee Robinson back on loan – once the highly-rated full-back has signed an extended contract at Goodison Park.

Robinson has only 12 months left to run on his current deal with Everton, who hope another good year in the Championship will prove beneficial for his development.
Wanderers have 10 days before the close of the permanent window and are expected to complete the £200,000 signing of Josh Magennis in the next couple of days - their first cash addition in more than three years.
Parkinson insists he is still in the market for more permanent signings.
“Being honest, I am working towards bringing two strikers in,” he said. “We need them.”

When I load up the BN website I can't find the article. Think they may have uploaded it to the wrong part of the site. At first I thought Marc had accidentally put the story up too early an had taken it back down nevermind.
