Why would it give you optimism ?

Because the top two (Newcastle and WBA) have re-established themselves as good Pemiership outfits. Swansea have as well. Leicester are favourites to go up ands Cardiff are fancied.

It gives me optimism that we can get back and do reasonably well.

However, like many of these clubs it may also need changes at the top

Baring in mind "we've gotta get players in who can cope with that" was an indirect excuse for us being shit on a regular basis, it speaks volumes about Gartside that the prick lasted over two years in the job. The trigger has to be pulled the minute you start slagging off the fans which I believe wasn't too deep into his reign - otherwise you're on a hiding to nothing.

In hindsight, I can look back on that match and smile.
