The following players are out of contract at the end of the season:

Kevin Davies
Zat Knight
Martin Petrov
Paul Robinson
Ivan Klasnic
Jussi
Ricardo Gardner
Gretar Steinsson
Robbie Blake
Sean Davis

Would you offer a new contract to any of them or would you have them face a firing squad for crimes against BWFC?

I don't see how the club can let 10 players go because they won't have the funds to replace them. Okay, Sean Davis, Kevin Davies, Gardner and Blake should go as their days are numbered, but I suspect the others will be offered some sort of contract, albeit on vastly reduced terms.

Sad fact is, as crap as the likes of Zat Knight & Paul Robinson are, there will always be another stupid club ready to match their wages.

I'd offer new contracts to Knight, Steinsson, Klasnic, Petrov & Jussi. It would cost millions to replace them.

If they are free agents in the summer they would expect a signing on fee to rejoin the club - even if we wanted them too.

It's going to cost a tidy packet simply to sign another ten bodies - even if we sign them on 'free' transfers.

Most if not all of the players out of contract with us - if offered new terms - will be offered less money (see the Jussi story) - can't see many of them liking that!

It's difficult to say, not knowing what division we'll be playing in, and how much money these players are demanding.
KDavies and Robinson wouldn't be in my plans if we were in League 2, so that makes those ones easy.
Jaaskelainen, Klasnic and Petrov would have to take a big paycut, whatever the league.
I'd possibly keep Steinsson on a one year cheap deal IF we went down.
I don't understand why we renewed Blake's contract last year, so he'd be gone.
Gardner spends too much time on the doctor's table so he'd have to literally be asking for peanuts - he can have a positive impact when fit. Same with Sean Davis.

The one that stands out as the one with the most still to offer whatever the league is Zat Knight.

I can see us keeping hold of Knight now that Cahill has gone. Whether Ream can oust Knight or Wheater remains to be seen.

The 4 from that list that have the most to offer the side on the pitch are Petrov, Knight, Klasnic & Steinnson.

BKD would be fine if he wants to end his career here for an agreeable fee. I actually think he could be a rather helpful player/coach/mentor to Ngog. I appreciate his tenure and leadership, but the game has passed his legs by, and that's just life.

I'd really like to see some fire from Knight if he's to remain her. If the strategy is that he's the guy who can step into Cahill's boots then I'd like to see some gumption from him if I was signing paychecks. He seems far too uninspired in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. He never seems pissed off when we lose.

P.S. Nice avatar. My wife likes Justin Beaver.

You'd better keep them all, you'll need them in the Championship.

I'm with the majority on this.

Blake, Gardner, Robinson, Davis have nothing to offer at all.
Jussi and Davies really have limited use and would have to face a serious wage cut to be worth considering.
Klasnic, Petrov, Knight and Steinsson all some potential use and would be worth keeping if possible.

Sean Davis is almost near full fitness. I think he should be given a chance because he has had an horrendous time with injuries.

I agree about Knight but we need cover. Only Wheater, Ricketts and Ream ( if he signs ) can play at centre half.

It's a bit more complicated, for me, too many unanswered questions, Wages, What division we'll be in, do they want to stay anyway.
Players i'd let go.

Paul Robinson
Robbie Blake
Ricardo Gardner
Kevin Davies
Sean Davis... would wait and see how he does rest of this season.

We could offer them all a 1 year extension NOW. And then sell them off in summer before it kicks in. I can see teams taking a punt on Davies £450k, Sean Davies £250k, Jussi 0.5 mil, Klasnic 0.5 mil, Robinson 250k, and even Blake 99p. Gardner - he comes free if they buy 5 rolls of tube grip from the club.

Keep Knight, Steinsson, Petrov and maybe Jussi depending on the situation. The rest can go for me.

A bit harsh on Gardner, Jay Jay. At his peak he was a top player for us. He has been unlucky with injuries but he has been a good servant to the club over the years.

I have always liked RG. It was only a joke really. I just think he carries too many injuries to really have an impact any more.
