There is a Wanderer in that photo, Boncey. Did you not spot him?

I think this was the England team that played against Scotland whose side included Denis Law and Ian St John.
Yes indeed. I should have named the team, but couldn't be bothered. Ray Parry for anyone interested.

I'm an on and off reader. Great grab and go paper if you don't have a lot of time, but newspapers on the whole are dying a death of a thousand cuts. By the time they hit the news stands they're pretty much out of date.
I sticks to mags these days. Private Eye and When Saturday Comes being my two regulars.

No one cares about anything if it's in black and white, apart from old codgers that is. Football began with the Premier League apparently.
I no longer try to enlighten the younger family members. Last week one of them asked me to value my memorabilia, so they'd have a rough idea of how much they might get for it when I'm gone.
He's supported the Whites for ten years , but has never heard of Wyn Davies or John Byrom. The past is another country, and it's deemed a no fly zone.
I sometimes wonder why I bother myself. Mind you, at least I solved one of my picture puzzles after emailing Marc Iles a couple of years ago.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be, Boncey, but don't go calling Lady B an old codger if you don't mind.

Don't worry Bob. 'Codger' is male. She doesn't have to feel insulted. Not sure about you though.
I myself am a proud codger. A codger stuck indoors waiting for the new freezer to arrive. Between 7am and 7pm they say.
It might be a long day.

What are they trying to hide?

Good article. So many great characters back then. We've got a pretty bland lot at the moment, far too fearful of social media to open their mouth. On anything.
Always had a soft spot for Derby, and it's a shame to see them in their present predicament.
Simon Jordan, a fan, and a friend of Mel Morris, said Morris really only had himself to blame, and had told him so. He explained further, but it was way over my head.

I'd have to do a bit more delving to give an opinion but I do think that Simon Jordan is a bit of a motormouth.

If reports of Mel Morris' personal wealth are at all accurate he'd have a lot more left than Eddie had when he decided he could no longer keep funding BWFC.

Eddie would have got around £125m from selling his shares in Strix but spent nearly £200m on BWFC. The difference will have come from investment gains but how much was left is anyone's guess. Not a lot is mine.

Championship clubs lost over £300m in aggregate in 2019/20 and, whilst some of that would be COVID-related, most of it wouldn't be. Its been a case of over-spending to try to gain promotion or avoid relegation for virtually all Championship clubs and it has been getting worse year-on-year.

Blackburn depend on the Venky's, Preston on Trevor Hemmings, but for how long?

Looks like Reading are next in line for a points deduction.

I was one of the 34,000 at Burnden Park to see Franny Lee line up alongside Nat Lofthouse in Franny's unforgettable debut against Man City on Bonfire Day 1960.

Ray Parry had been sold to Blackpool and Tommy Banks, nearing the end of his career, was not playing in that match. Tommy was a top class player who, having spent his summers hod carrying on building sites, had campaigned successfully against the maximum wage in football.

It was hard not see his point. I was only a kid at the time but I well remember worrying where it would all end up for clubs like Bolton Wanderers.

Dutch Decoy has been declared to run in the following race:

Tuesday 28 September
3.20 Ayr - Handicap (Class 3) 7f

There are thirteen runners and Joe Fanning rides. Dutch Decoy has been drawn in stall 2.

Mark Johnston says this looks a suitable opportunity for Dutch Decoy, who has not run since disappointing at Musselburgh in August. Mark hopes conditions will suit Dutch Decoy at Ayr, and he can bounce back with a much better effort here.

Our View: Redarna last won over 1m at Ayr in July, and he competes here from the same mark after a few below-par efforts. Zip last won at Newcastle in April and is often not beaten far. Cold Stare won over 7f at Haydock last time out and is 2lb higher here. Black Friday won over 6f at Ayr in July and has been below par in better quality 6f races since then. He has won over 7f so cannot be discounted. Wobwobwob won over 7f at York in May and finished third over this course and distance (C&D) last time. Tommy G is a course specialist who has won plenty of races from 6f-1m at Ayr. Dancing To Win won at Lingfield in July and races from a 2lb lower mark here, but was disappointing last time.

Dutch Decoy ran well earlier in the season, but he was below his best at Musselburgh when last seen in August. We hope that the ground doesn't deteriorate further as very soft ground would probably not be ideal. We hope that Dutch Decoy can return to form with a positive run here, as he has shown plenty of ability in the past and 7f on a flat track usually suits him well. We consider a value price to be 12/1.

Just received an ad for a Chinese watch. Probably give it a miss. Very Happy

First design for example 쁩. Movement durable may somewhat in long but with eyes: the dial of visibility price contrast,. Band quality look do not even worse for four. Second hand sorting, perfect but, second hand dial color for itchy well Invisible Child partial one big problem, not four. Caustic non living style watch as recommended.
