Cheltenham 0-1 BWFC

So we're off to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium (WTF?) to face high flying Cheltenham tonight. Not sure of the line up as I suspect Evatt may be tempted to make one or two changes but it would be a helluva turn around if we get anything from the game. Kioso is a big loss but our main issue will be dealing with crosses and long throws into the box so I wouldn't be surprised if changes weren't made at the back perhaps with Taft coming in. I still reckon big Reiss could do a holding job in the midfield given the chance and the extra height would help out when we're under pressure in the box. And isn't it time to give Crawford a rest?
Very tough game against a solid and direct team so I'm expecting we'll lose - but getting anything from the game would be a welcome bonus.

Can't see us winning this one i'm afraid. Greenidge is playing but not sure where though? Crawford has been dropped which is about time.

I'll be chuffed if they stick him in the middle just in front of the back 3 - a long overdue experiment IMO. Probably be at the back which is not a great idea.

Great result, love a last minute winner.  A few Bolton fans were there too, you could see them celebrating the goal.

Good win just can't understand how bad we were against Port Vale strange league this.

Certainly didn't expect it. I'd have taken a draw pre game. Just goes to show. Get on a decent run and we can do something in this league.

We knew they'd hoof/chuck it into the box at every opportunity so I imagine Evatt's been rehearsing that with the lads all week. We certainly set up more defensively than the Vale game which left Doyler a bit isolated - and we never really looked like scoring until Ryan Delaney's one yard screamer.
Anyhoo, it was a delight.

Cheltenham should be playing Sunday league with that style, all hoofball and long throw ins. We defended very well i thought and created plenty of chances especially in the first half.

Bit strange putting Greenidge at LWB but he did ok and defended well.

The bucket of towels needs to be stopped it must waste minutes each half, i hate playing against a long throw specialist somehow it feels like they are cheating even though you know it's in the rules. No fan of Cheltenham after seeing how they play. No idea how they are in the automatic spots.

It obviously works for them.

What wound me up was Tozer stealing 5 or 6 yards on a couple of occasions so he could take the throw from the tunnel and get a longer run up. And I reckon his foot was on the pitch on a couple of occasions but the ref and linesman didn't check for a foul throw as they were focused on the box.

TBH I wouldn't complain if we had someone who could do that - but we'd have to send the big lads up.
Which brings me to a related issue - why do we focus so much on putting high balls into Doyler? He's small compared to the defenders that tend to mark him.
