Wanderers new boy Ben Jackson cannot wait to get started in League Two.

The teenage Huddersfield Town defender, who came through the ranks with the Yorkshiremen to feature in the Championship this season, goes straight into the Bolton squad to face Cheltenham Town this afternoon.

Jackson has made a handful of appearances for the Terriers and spent last season out on loan with Stockport County – where he pitched himself against Ian Evatt’s Barrow side.

Now he is looking to get some more experience in league football under his belt, challenging the likes of Declan John and Jamie Mascoll for a place on the left side of the Bolton defence.

“I’m at an age now where I want to be playing senior football on a regular basis,” he said. “To be able to come to such a massive club in a good league and getting some games is very important to me.

“I’m excited to get out on the pitch and get some games.”

Wanderers have also brought in Zack Elbouzedi, who has impressed in flashes for Lincoln City in League One this season with six appearances and two goals.

Able to play anywhere across the front line, the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international also cannot wait to get on to the pitch.

“I’m 22 now and I just want to play regular football,” he said. “I’m really eager to get going for Bolton Wanderers.

“Everyone knows the size of the club and I’m delighted to be here.

“Hopefully I can some here, play some games, and help the club to progress.”
