Ian Evatt has backed Zack Elbouzedi to be a super sub as Wanderers look to seal promotion to League One.

The Lincoln loanee has made 12 appearances for the Whites since signing in the middle of January.

But just two of those have been starts with a largely settled side developing as Evatt’s men have stormed up the League Two table.

The Bolton boss insists however that the 23-year-old still has a big role to play, especially given his pace down the flanks.

“Zack will probably say himself that he did not settle when he first came. He struggled when he started games early on,” Evatt said.

“But he has settled down now and he is a different option in terms of his electric pace, he’s really quick.

“He probably needs to improve on his final decision, the cross, the pass, the shot, but he is a young player and is still learning his trade.

“He is a serious threat to have off the bench when teams tire and games open up, he can expose them with his pace.

“Whether that is when we are in front and we need him to run us up the pitch and give our back lads a breather, or to attack and get another goal, he’s a valuable option.”
