We "have mounted 109 goals attempts, and committed 107 fouls, which are unsurpassed totals in the Championship" according to the BBC. Pretty shocking particularly as we have only scored 10 goals.

And I also found out why Sordell got to play for a few minutes on Saturday - Afobe wasn't available.

Despite this stat, I'd say our biggest problem has been creating a continuous flow of good chances over the course of 90 minutes.

104 of them were by Kevin Davies.

What have you got to say about that Doff?

I've just done a quick check on the goals for and against of the other 23 clubs in the Championship. We've scored 10 goals- 18 other clubs have scored more.

We've let in 12 goals. 11 clubs have let in more goals.

So- on goals scored we're at the bottom end of the range. On goals conceded we're about average.

These are really obvious statistics- but it's not the defence which is letting us down- altough they're regularly pilloried. It's an utterly ineffective set of strikers. Either they start earning their corn- or we are seriously looking at a scrap for survival in this league.

For how much longer do we have to spiral downwards?

Coyle was a front player himself, you'd think he'd be more clued up when it comes to getting some decent strikers in the squad.

As soon as the new manager comes in, that's got to be the priority. No matter how shit the defence is we've no chance if we can't score goals. Didn't we get around 100 goals when we got promoted to the Premiership first time around?

Nope it was 3rd time, and last time, we were in the Premiership!
