Why on Earth is Gartside keeping faith with Coyle?

A protest does bugger all, the Newcastle one was good in terms of numbers but Mike Ashley is still there so that didn't exactly work.

You don't need a protest to get rid of a manager, sending dvds to the refs and losing more games than you win will get you sacked, which is what will happen if we lost tomorrow.

Gartside and coyle are going to take us to league one, im afraid the 80s are back, all the signs are there according to a few of my older friends...

Thats the reality of it, only way we are going to sort this is if eddie davies steps in - why is he not doing?

You can have the best PLAYERS in the world but it's how you play as a TEAM that determines how successful you ultimately are.

Coyle's fixation with 4-4-2 with two wingers is probably notorious throughout football now and any opposition manager with only half a brain will plan for it and ruthlessly exploit it - Coyle's record (particularly the goals against) is testimony to this.

I note he started the last game or so 4-4-2 with only one winger and Mavis, Andrews and Spearing. When I saw the team sheet I thought that seemed unbalanced as well as I couldn't workout who was playing left midfield - someone out of position presumably?

I've not seen the match nor the goals but I'm willing to guess that this 'weakness' was exploited by the opposition managers.

Am I right in this assumption?

He had Eagles on the left wing, Spearing and Andrews in the middle and Mark Davies playing out to the right.

When we went 2-1 down he tried to change it by bringing Spearing off and putting Petrov on the right. It paid off because we got an equaliser but equally it could have backfired if Leeds had the nous to overrun us in midfield.

Ok petrov is injured this weekend.

but what is the fascination with having Eagles out of positon and Mark Davies out of position.

Why not try Petrov on the left, Eagles on the right. Or Wylde on the left?

Why not have Mark Davies as a second striker with Davo up top?

Hi, Owen - I didn't realize you were a member.

I previously posted that a loss against Leeds followed by a loss at Millwall and he would be gone by Monday. That draw on Tuesday may mean he hangs on until December when his rolling contract is not renewed giving his replacement a transfer window to kick start the season.

Eddie Davies lives in the Isle ofr Man for tax reasons and will have limited opportunities to enter the UK. Gartside is his lieutenant on the spot who takes his orders from the owner. OK electronic communicatios can be made or OC can fly to visit the owner al la Steve Kean but ED prefers a man on the ground.

Eddie Davies has his own private helicopter which he often uses to travel to home games. He started off life as an estate agent in Farnworth before going into electronics so it's doubtful that football is his specialist subject.

I am pretty sure that it was Chairman Phil who originally talked Davies into investing in our club in the first place.

Alf, Let's not forget that Eddie is getting hefty interest payments on his outlay and we have never defaulted. First and foremost, it was a business deal.

My thoughts are that he may be getting his interest but will he ever get his initial investment back?? Anything is only worth what someones prepared to pay for it and You would need to be seriously stinko AND seriously bonkers to want to buy BWFC at the moment

I agree. Part of the business plan was that we stay in the Premiership. That's where the big money is. The TV sponsorship deal is worth millions for the top twenty clubs. If we languish in the Championship then come the end of the season a lot of fickle fcukers will not renew their season tickets. It's the ptrice to pay for getting relegated and not getting back at the first attempt.

FWIW, I still think promotion this season is not beyond us but as every games passes us by our chances are decreasing.
