Sky Bet make Owen Coyle their favourite to become Blackpool boss following Ian Holloway's decision to join Crystal Palace.
The Seasiders have begun the search for a new man at the helm after Holloway's departure to take over the Eagles was confirmed on Saturday morning.
The online bookmaker opened betting with Steve Thompson as their 5/2 favourite but the Seasiders' assistant manager has drifted out to 5/1, while Michael Appleton (3/1) and Keith Hill (8/1) are both considered to be in the running.
A flurry of bets then saw Paul Ince come in from 33/1 to 9/4 and join them at the top of the market amid suggestions of a link-up with his son and the Seasiders' star man, Tom, but Coyle has since been backed heavily and is now the evens favourite.
Football trader Chris Spicer said: "We suspected that the cash-strapped club would give their assistant boss a chance after Holloway was lured away by Palace.
"Thompson has an intimate knowledge of the club having spent seven years as part of the backroom staff and is highly thought of, while he will obviously be a cheaper option.
"However, it is Coyle who has, somewhat surprisingly, been attracting a large slice of interest from our punters and is now the favourite."
