Wanderers provide one of the best “matchday experiences” in League One, according to a new survey.

More than 23,000 supporters were in attendance to watch the Whites take on Carlisle at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last weekend.

The survey rated each ground in a range of areas including ticket prices, atmosphere, location, view, infrastructure and food.

Wanderers ranked second in the list with an average score of 75.3 out of 100. They had the joint-highest rating in several categories and also offer one of the most reasonably priced season tickets in the division.

Derby’s Pride Park came top with an average score of 76.5, while Wigan, Northampton and Reading also rank highly in the list.

Stevenage find themselves at the bottom following their promotion from League Two last season, while Port Vale and Bristol Rovers were handed similar scores

While Portsmouth didn’t make the top five, Fratton Park was judged to have the “best atmosphere” in the third tier.

Wanderers actually ranked 14th out of the 92 clubs in the top four divisions of English football - above the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

They were one of only six sides outside the Premier League to make the top 20 along with West Brom, Huddersfield, Derby, Leicester, Plymouth and Southampton.

Sheffield United came top of the overall list, finishing just above Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.
