Transfer hunt intensifies for Wanderers as opening friendly comes into view 18287030

Wanderers expect to step-up their transfer hunt ahead of their opening pre-season game against West Bromwich Albion.

Ian Evatt has already added three new signings to his squad this summer and the club is working hard to get one more deal over the line before this weekend when they kick-off their preparations for the new campaign.

Bolton have managed to keep their recruitment plans under wraps for the majority of the summer but they are thought to be seeking signings in both wing-back positions, in midfield and up front with a month to go until their opening League One fixture at Leyton Orient.

Before that, the club has a schedule of six friendly matches to do their fine tuning as they aim to go one better than last season and achieve promotion to the Championship.

No fans will be allowed to watch Saturday’s game against West Brom at St George’s Park, headquarters of the Football Association, and the clubs have also confirmed that no outside media will be allowed to cover the game.

The first opportunity Bolton supporters will get to see their team in action will be Saturday, July 20, when the club travels to Bishop Auckland FC to take on Middlesbrough.

Boro have announced that a small allocation for the 1,950 capacity Heritage Park will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday. Wanderers have put tickets for their home friendlies against Stoke City and Fiorentina on sale but have not yet announced when their allocation for the Boro game will be made available.

Wanderers have also announced that tickets for the Carabao Cup first round game at home to Mansfield Town have gone on sale. Tickets to the game, to be played on Tuesday, August 13 (7.45pm kick off), will cost £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Currently, the club only plan to open the lower tiers of the East and West Stands.
