Sir Patrick Moore has died today at the grand age of 89. He had presented The Sky At Night since its inception, in 1957, and had done 704 of the 705 episodes. He was a great and influential astronomer, but for most of my generation (between ages of 35 and 45) he will probably be better remembered as Channel 4's Gamesmaster!
Star gazing will never be the same, but at least there will be an extra star in they sky tonight.
