So we are going from a gambling company to a money "shark" lending company..... says it all about the club!!!

Up until now we have had very few shirt sponsors but the main two have enjoyed longevity - Normid and Reebok. Any chance that can happen again instead of swapping every 2 or 3 years?

Also, as we are still a Championship side have the board looked at getting a sponsor for the back top of teh shirt, which is allowed - would generate some income to replace teh lost income whilst still being in this division.

Bolton are set to announce a controversial shirt sponsorship with payday loan company QuickQuid.

This is particularly sensitive for the Championship club after an inquest this month heard that a 36-year-old Bolton father was being pursued by loan companies and debt collectors when he committed suicide by setting himself on fire.

Bolton delayed the unveiling of QuickQuid’s sponsorship following Anthony Breeze’s inquest. He died in hospital after suffering 73 per cent burns. He owed £1,600 to several high-interest lenders but QuickQuid was not one of them. Police said there was no evidence Mr Breeze had been threatened by debt collectors.

I have to say that we are really scraping the barrel for sponsors if it's going to be this lot.
Why can't we get someone with a bit of respectability and mystery like WIPLC?

May I also comment that the current banner looks not dissimilar to the deck of the Titanic.

only 500k, seems like chump change but i suspect it's the highest offer considering they're taking it and knowing the backlash it will create.

I'm not particularly fussed to be honest.

Well you fucking should be you dick.

Firms like Quick Quid prey on the poor and desperate. BWFC should not be associating themselves with this firm.

I'd rather have a fag company sponsoring us.

Not sure the abuse is necessary.

There is every need. Why would you not be bothered about a firm like Quick Quid sponsoring us? You think it's a good thing to have kids walking round school in a top advertising a legal loan shark?

I don't see the problem tbh.

Would everyone be moaning if Carlsberg or Carling sponsored us?

Drinking is a personal choice, and in moderation is enjoyable.

People that have to use Quick Quid are not doing it because they want to, and in many cases, because they have any other choice.

I won't be buying them the kit, if the parents have a problem with it, then thats up to them.

Wouldn't say it made me delighted to have a dubious company like that, but i won't be losing any sleep.

People had the same hissy fit when we "got into bed" with a betting firm.

i believe the logo was left off the kids kit, and after about 4 hours people were in the shop buying the kit (XXXXL of course)

Drinking fucks thousands of lives up every year. But the club still sell it in the ground.

I think they should set up a quick quid booth next to the bar so people can get a loan at half time.

Sadly these companies are fully legal, it's up to the Government to get some proper regulation to stop these companies giving money to idiots who can't afford to pay it back.

This is exactly what I was worried about! We need a sponsor who will pay bigger money! Not a measly 500K over two years!

Teams in the Championship don't get massive sponsorship deals though.

Reebok didn't even pay us much tbh.

You are a horrible human being.

Perhaps if you'd lost your job, had a mortgage to pay and mouths to feed you'd turn to Quick Quid. Would that make you stupid?

Yes, but drinking alcohol is a choice. You don't have to drink it.

But if you've lost your job and the debts are mounting up firms like Quick Quid are the only option for many people.

Because I know that if i have no money coming In I'm not able to pay off a debt.

unfortunately if i was in dire need of money, despite the stigma it attracts, i would be seeking help from the government while i got back on my feet.

not taking money from a company who will want 5095867% APR.

Some people do have to drink though. They're called alcoholics and their lives have been ruined by drink.

They don't have to drink though. A bit of willpower goes a long way.

Yes, because the government are queuing up to hand out money to folk who can't pay their mortgage

And even if they were, you think it would happen overnight? All the time little Johnny and Britney are starving.
