Bolton Wanderers’ under-18 side are back on home soil this Saturday when they come up against their Liverpool counterparts at Lostock.

Having been defeated 4-1 by Sunderland on their last Lostock outing, the youngsters bounced back with successive victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Middlesbrough on their travels during the past week.

With just three home games remaining for the in-form Whites, Neil Critchley and his Anfield youngsters look set to provide stern opposition this weekend despite being knocked out of the FA Youth Cup at the quarter-final stage in Wednesday’s meeting with Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

The Reds’ youngsters, who were 2-0 down during normal time, before found two late goals to force extra time and looked to be on their way to the last four of the competition after opening up a 4-2 lead.

Despite their best efforts however, the Royals came back with two late goals of their own before edging the penalty shoot-out 5-4.

Currently occupying third position in the Premier Academy league table, the Anfield outfit have won four of their last six outings but were held to a stalemate against Manchester United in their last league game.

Wanderers on the other hand reside in eighth position, but boast the second best form in the entire league behind second placed Everton.

With Bolton boasting an extra day’s rest on their opponents, David Lee and Tony Kelly’s side will be hoping to take advantage and record what would be their eighth win in ten games.
