2 minute silence

We got sent round an email this morning saying a two minute silence would be marked using the time on the phones starting from 11am.

I have never worked in an office where this isn't the case.

Being quite close to manchester you can here the guns as well to mark the beginning and end, that's if you haven't got one lad picking yup the phone dead on 11am, two girls talking about there weekend, and 3 managers asking questions of there staff.

i'm the mental one for being pissed off because they chose to ignore it.

It's a difficult one. In offices it's relatively easy to observe the silence but in shops it's a bit harder. Also I have seen it suggested that cars should stop driving and pull over to the side of the road which sounds insane to me - how would that work on a motorway?

i wouldn't mind xmiles, but our office was deadly silent up for three hours and then as soon as 11 hit it was the noisiest it has been all morning.  i think a few people did it intentionally, and that has what has got my goat i think!

That makes me doubly bad.

I think that they would just turn their radio off.

I was all alone at work,but I observed the silence.
Takes a lot to shut me up.

More or less every office I have worked in during my working life observes it.

Unusually for me on here, it is 100% factual.

I got bored with Ghosts about a week after I bought it last year, so I never even finished the single player campaign but I found it again this morning and decided to finish it.

And it's still shit.

(Glad Riley survived though - hate seeing pets being hurt.)
