so an update on what other forums are saying after last night's q&a Very Happy

lets start with the wanderer again

jonnycooper says

http://www.bwfcforum.com/forum/bwfcforu ... 15?quote=1

Bitchy! Ask Us Anything - Page 5 Laughing

Crazy horse and lost leopard spot have trouble viewing the link so jonnycooper offers a brief description;

It basically suggests this site is full of sad case moaners, for not wholeheartedly supporting this new trust unquestioned!

Abdoulayes twin says

Try clicking on the thread links lower on the page. Basically the forum they built is by muppets that can't set consistent permissions Ask Us Anything - Page 5 Icon_rolleyes

lost leopard spot chimes in

Thanks AT, got there. So, do we know, is that Josh8 also the Mike Smith who is one of the original Steering Group members then?. And therefore is he the bwfcst who is the original poster for this thread?

Plus I note that someone last night, asked the same question I've been asking on here, and getting no response to from either nelson66 or bwfcst who said they were happy to answer any question; the BWFCST didn't really answer him on Iles Q&A either.
The bloke who asked it last night was called JustaBloke2000, so on behalf of him and myself, I shall repeat it for the last time:
Who is going to pick the Steering Group members and using what criteria? (enough of the woolly shit answers about having the correct skillsets – who is deciding what the correct skillsets are, and what are they basing this decision on???)

Lever End says

Supporters Direct isn't it Spotty? The idea being that they use their experience from other trusts and feed it into setting up the next. No idea if it will lead to anything concrete but I must admit I fail to understand the hostility to it at such an embryonic stage.

Lost leopard spot (who is turning into one of my favourite posters outside of nuts of course) says

The only hostility I'm displaying (I cannot speak for others) is that when I ask a direct question that I feel is relevant to knowing what kind of setup we are going to get I get fobbed off or ignored by the very people who are running the thing, who stated at the beginning that they would be open, and who are beginning to be as much a closed shop as the board of BWFC is.
What is the point of having Fan Representation if it turns out it will be Interested Parties Representation on behalf of us humble fans?

Crazy Horse says

Eh? The hostility isn't coming from those who think the trust is a bad idea, in fact if anything it's the other way round.

Anyway we'll see. If the trust takes off all well and good if not then no harm done. It's all the same to me.

and in response to Lost leopard spots post Abdoulayes twin says

I haven't a scooby doo Spotty. I say give 'em a bit of time and see what they come up with and whom. I'm a bit sceptical meself though.

Burnden Aces now....................

yep nowt

so onto the next one.........bwfc forum

only one post on the topic other than the two from last night and Breaders has a fan.

Mike Smith didn't like having his business history raised on here last night.

In fact, he was so upset he took to his own website bwfcforum.com immediately after and launched a foul-mouthed attack on the people who (quite reasonably) asked him to explain why he'd said he had only ever been a director of one business which had ceased trading, despite the Companies House website clearly indicating that he has been a director of at least seven businesses which are now dissolved.

(Notice the spelling, Michael - there are two "S's" in dissolved, not one.)

He was even crowing about how he'd attempted to scupper his "rival's" BWFC fan forum site by acquiring a very similar domain name (".com" instead of ".co.uk") and linking it to a hardcore pornsite to put people off using it.

Yeah, dead grown up that and just what we need from one of the leading lights in this proposed ST.

This isn't a witch hunt and I have no prior knowledge of Michael Smith but I am a bit concerned that someone prepared to react like that to a reasonable question appears to be so heavily involved in this ST.

It is rushed, I agree.
It is certainly far from perfect.
But administration is almost upon us quicker than envisaged, hence the haste.

Signing up, getting involved and having a say costs nothing. There's no embarrassment attached to trying to do something for the club we all claim to cherish.

It's rushed because time is of the essence.
There's over £2m of unpaid taxes needing to be cleared ahead of a winding-up order next Monday and we're struggling to offload enough assets/players to cover the shortfall.

Secondly, yes I agree that IF (and it's a bif if) the trust tried to buy the club, we'd be seriously limited in the immediate future, but the club would still exist as a football club and not be subject to the likes of Holdsworth and/or Disley.

As for the betting, I'm not sure I'll be around enough to help. I don't feel too welcome here.

Sorry I've not been around this morning so I'm late to contribute to the debate today, so let me fill you in on why Traf is on the scene.

Traf is one of the pillars of the Wanderersway forum and indeed used to be one of the two main mods on there who effectively ran the public face of it (Carlos is the other).

He is well respected on there (and by myself too).

He did have a spell away from ww and formed his own forum 'White Hot' - but it did not take off.  He also for quite a while became a regular contributor to BA but eventually returned to ww, which again became his home forum (although no longer as a mod).

When Nuts was set up the owner of ww actively tried to sabotage us and Traf did voluntarily get involved on our behalf.  Around that time I tried to contact two infrequent posters of BA who had issues with ww - Didles (who had just returned after being banned for a month) and George (who had not posted on ww for several months).  For this I have been banned for posting on ww for 4 years now - ironically the ban was imposed on me by the Traf account!

Maybe I shouldn't have contacted these two people to tell them of Nuts existence - neither even received my pm's in any event (the pm system only allowed people to receive 5 pm's at any one time and both their pm boxes where full and so the messages could not be delivered) - but one of them was continually ridiculed, bullied and recently banned for reacting to his tormentors and the other had not posted on ww for six months or more.  I was hardly cherry picking their regular posters but merely two who I thought might like being here rather than on there.

Anyway last night I was contacted privately by Traf who asked me if I could raise the awareness of the ST on Nuts.  I replied that I had I believed been fair about the ST cause in that I've allowed the ST to have a free say about their activities on here as mod but also have spoken about my caution of it in respect of at least one of the key people involved so far, as an individual.

I invited Traf to freely speak about the ST and told him I would warmly welcome him posting on Nuts in general.

I find Traf to be an exceptionally smart and clever person with a good sense of humour.

As for the ST my view is that as long as the 'wrong' people don't get control of it then I don't see no reason not to back it.  The haste it is being set up in now seems almost that it is being established as a life raft for the club in that an Administrator HAS to talk to it under FA rules in such circumstances.

The club will go into Admin in my opinion - I can't see how it can survive under the present business model - and I guess there is a worry from the current owner and Birch that the asset stripping vultures are circling and getting a ST to take it on would be the best way for the club to survive in some fashion or other.

I can't see how the ST could raise the money to run the club nor get the backing of rich individuals and businesses to help do it in time to save the club from admin this time but at least it will be there the next time we go into Admin - which if you look at the Portsmouth case is basically what happened to them.

Time will tell if I'm right or wrong with my opinion of the future but it is the present that needs addressing now.

The ST WILL go ahead no matter what peoples view of it is and as long as it has got good people like Traf involved then there is some hope for the future.

I believe in Traf.  I haven't believed in some of the others up to now.

Traf tells me it is not his intention to stand in the elections for the ST, I hope he changes his mind before then because he would have my vote if he did.

It truly is amazing how the club could end up his this gargantuan mess in the first place.

We get what we deserve I guess.

Vote for Traf (if he stands).

I was having a bad morning!
Brightened up by a few winners and an embarrassingly positive post about me by Sluffy Very Happy

As for the Trust, people are right to be sceptical, especially after the inter-forum spats allied to the demise of the club, but we should at least approach a new venture with an open mind.

I, too, have questions about some of the people involved, but they're for another day, surely.
