Imagine had we won yesterday?  Unfortunately that is fiction.  We need to beat Burton.  Hopefully we show up and give the Wolves a game.  One point is all they need to win the Championship, and one point will help us immensely.

I think we have enough to beat Burton.

Just done the championship predictor and things go to the wire on the last day. Fortunately we stay up Level on 44 points with reading and Brum.

That's pretty much what I have predicted then in post #149

I still think it's impossible to predict with any degree of accuracy at this stage of the season, but agree it may well go down to GD. Certainly likely to be very close which worries me as we've been on the wrong end of "very close" relegations too often.

Who would have predicted Barnsley coming back twice in the past 3 games... an 88th minute winning goal against Sheffield United, and a 90+3 goal against us.  They may have Lady Luck with them.  Let's hope not. Let's give the Wolves a good game and come away with a point... the GD may be most important if we tie with Brum.

Yup... Nottingham Forest need to win one game and that is not against us.

Well our result was predictably awful and the Burton and Birmingham results didn’t help matters. But the crucial one that had to go our way in the event of our defeat did and Barnsley lost. They will lose at Forest I think meaning it’s all up to us. If we get to that position and go down we’ve only ourselves to blame - but it’s definitely still on.


My prediction now is that Barnsley lose at Forest. We draw with Burton and Barnsley won their game - mental end against Forest and it will go down to the final seconds of the season. It’s the Bolton way.

Momentum isn’t with us and I expect Barnsley to beat Forest but providing we win both our games - and that’s a huge ask - there’s always the hope that Derby will turn Barnsley over on the final day.

Sad that it’s come to this despite the warning signs being there months ago when we were well clear of the drop zone and in a good position to consolidate.

Yeah we’ve pissed a lot of easy chances up the wall to have this finished. But on the other side we were down for me in October so it’s just about making the chances count. We blew it at Oakwell but at least we showed some spirit. Birmingham and Millwall were pathetic displays and I’m guessing yesterday was also. Quick start needed at Burton because we can’t afford to go behind I think. Barnsley’s away form is almost as woeful as ours so I think they’ll struggle at Forest. Long way to go yet but you’re right it should have been over and done with ages ago.

We have no chance at Burton, it'll be over by half-time. One team is full of confidence, the other looks like it couldn't care less.

Anyone suggesting anything other than defeat at Burton isn't being honest with themselves.
