Those were the days Chris, meeting in the Sports Bar Amsterdam every night, then telling us all about it the next day.

Great times.

Correction....

It was a girl who was an ex of an actor from Neighbours  Very Happy

And still very good friends with Jitka and her bloke.  In fact get decent measures in our spirit filled coffees at the Italian he works at in Amsterdam!  Looking forward to that, again in a couple of weeks  Shocked

I may be misinterpreting the data, but does it not say that heavy drinkers have marginally more than a one in a hundred chance of developing alcohol - related illnesses?

994 + 338 = 1332 i.e. 1.332%

Also says non drinkers have a 0.994% chance of getting those same illnesses anyway so drinking makes hardly any difference in the scheme of things.

If anything, this survey is pretty much a carte blanche to get sloshed every day.

Me too Norpy.

I have a bottle of something most evenings, even a  bottle of say Wainwrights is 2.1 units, so that's 14.7 in a week.

Just looked at a bottle of 375ml Desparados and that is 1.9 units. So the 650ml bottle must be about 3.3 units.

I do like the the odd Malt or a  Jack Daniels,  which is probably a treble plus in size, well it soon goes down doesn't it.

I've always liked the that lovely clean taste of gin and tonic, I'm not into all these weird gins that are fashionable now, but I usually have some Bombay Sapphire in the cupboard.

My wife likes a glass of wine, so I end up having the odd glass too.

In the main I'm reasonably sensible about how much I drink. It's many years since I was hanging onto the bed with the room spinning around.

It was a lot of personal insults directed at Amos by one of his many enemies Boncey.

Alcohol is wonderful and was put on Earth to make people happy.
The feeling of cracking open a beer after work or a chilled wine, I pity anyone who doesn't experience that on a regular basis.
Yes, 100 units is excessive but let's face it if he cut down he'd only be a more miserable version of what he already is. He'd probably say he felt miles better and was loving life since packing it in like people tend to do, but he'd be lying.

The only person who has a problem here is you. I mean is there anything in your life that you do because you enjoy it, baring in mind there may be minors reading this?
