Well I must be in that bracket then because I try to walk for an hour with my dogs every lunchtime. I live near a country park with 3 miles of woodland walks and as well as the exercise it also gives me time to think and just relax and enjoy nature.

The park was opened in 2000 and in thirteen years I have only ever had one bad experience while going about my business so I think whoever compiled the statistics probably had his finger up his arse.

The clue is in "walking alone". When you walk a dog you are not alone.

The only time I ever walk by myself is to the shops which are about 10mins away, any other time I take the dog with me round the park for about an hour.

I stagger home from the pub on my own most weekend and unfortunately I haven't been raped. Maybe one day I just might get lucky.

I walk loads! I have a Miniature Schnauzer dog, that needs a lot of exercise. I am fortunate that where we live there are a lot of fields around, so it's great going for a long walk and it's very relaxing.

I feel so much better for it as well, I tend to walk at a brisk pace, so I can get the ticker working hard.

I used to do a lot of cardio exercises in the gym, but I can keep my weight down, just by walking regularly.
