I said they had been seen at the stadium getting a tour so there was some interest in my opinion, but as ever i bow to your greater knowledge on all things BWFC

I don't have greater knowledge about bwfc. I was just right about the Chinese interest being bogus.

If you don't believe anything at all relating to BWFC then chances are you are going to be right quite a lot of the time at the moment

The ex BWFC is a fitness guru who specialises in state of the art 'ice baths' to aid players recovery after the match/training. He's set up a number of companies in the past trying to sell them - with (would you believe) Ian Bridge the (discredited?) former Chair of the ST.
It's more than probable the club owns one.
Maybe the Chinese were genuinely from the Chinese football club, or maybe simply businessmen looking to do a deal with the ex-employee to sell them in China/far east perhaps?
Does it not seem a more likely scenario than some random Chinese turn up out of the blue to pump billions in to a financially bust third tier club, starting the season on at least a 12 point deduction?
Somebody has simply seen a business meeting unrelated to the purchase of the club, put two and two together and told the likes of Iles and Nixon who tweet the gossip and feed the morons who believe their every word.
Taylor and Bridge's current company -

A former company of Bridge now liquidated that sold the 'ice baths' -

Other companies Taylor and Bridge have selling ice baths -

So ex BWFC trying to do a bit of business or Chinese State trying to buy the club and pump billions of 'yuan' to become a world giant in the game?
Iles and Nixon infer one way, Hipster and myself infer the other.
Who do you think the vast majority believe?
Who do you think are the more likely to be correct?
Rhetorical question I'm not looking for an answer but merely to indicate that people with agendas (Nixon and Iles are both journalists and must raise millions of clicks on the papers who pay them, to read their 'gossip') should be treated cautiously and people who do not necessarily swallow what these social media 'influencers' state are not marginalised nutcases - well not all of the time anyway!

Mark Taylor came out at the time and said there was interest, maybe they changed their mind but it was well reported so why is it so improbable? Your constant hatred of all things ST is bordering on the obsessive by the way.

I think it's more likely the Chinese pictured were interested in buying the club than supplying baths.Bolton stopped being interested in state of the art training facilities when Sam Allardyce left, its almost certain Ken won't have been paying for the latest baths for Mark Taylor to show off to Chinese suppliers.
Just because the Chinese didn't put in a bid doesn't mean they weren't interested. The visit to the stadium and studying the accounts might in combination have put them off a bid for whatever reason.
5 other bidders have made offers so they can see some money in the club if they aren't fans wanting to spend their own cash on the club.

Eh???
I'm just stating facts that Taylor is involved in the fitness side of sport - he isn't an international football broker, he's set up two companies with 'cryotherapy' in the company name - look it up if you don't know what it means - with Bridge who himself had a cryotherapy company.
It's noting to do with the ST other than being coincidental - they both knew each other clearly long before the ST was formed.
If anything it is you is obsessive to any mention I may have about the ST - most of which you've got to admit yourself doesn't show themselves up in a positive way at all.
As for Iles report - ask him - he's the one earning his money writing to selling papers - not me.
Do you think he would write a story about ex employee shows random Chinese businessman ice bath at the stadium - would the paper hold the front page for that?

If it pleases you to think that, then carry on.
Doesn't make it true though.
I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Just being honest mate.
Sluffy is a genuine guy who's passionate about the club. Not sure why people misconstrue this as something nefarious.
Everyone needs to chill out.

Unfortunately I can see PP still on the job.....for half the season maybe. All depends who the new owners are. In an effort for some stability the new owners might keep Phil and staff until the new chairman gets his feet wet at least.
Is it possible that a new manager and all new staff and some new players are all aboard in the next few weeks......hard to fathom IMO.

He has managed 2 other clubs at championship level and his record is
Hull City in 2006/07 he won 4 games in 21 and was sacked with them 23rd in the League .
Two years later in 2008/09 he moves up from assistant manager at Charlton to manager and in 28 games in charge they also won 4 games and were relegated
With us in 2017/18 and 2018/19 has won 18 in 88
In total - 137 championship matches won 26 of those
I cannot see any new owner keeping him ... whoever takes over will bring in their own man , someone who buys into the new owners vision and someone capable in time of moving up the divisions with the squad they assemble

I think it is more a question of money than anything else.
If the new owner has a budget of a million or more to move him out and get someone else in - I think they will, if however they don't have budget enough to do this, then they will save the club first (I'm assuming the new owners are fan based like Michael James) and sort out the manager when they can afford to pot him - maybe they will give him his notice then simply put him on gardening leave whilst his contract runs down and put someone already here such as Jules Darby in charge (with someone like Billy Davies coming in as his advisor perhaps?).

So the new mysterious owner will just so happen to have a manager in their pocket and staff....all ready to go....with 8 or 9 senior players currently aboard. They will do a quick analysis of our requirements without ever seeing a game. Sounds like a plan..... I'm not saying that can't happen....isn't it more the likely changes will take several months at least.MartinBWFC wrote:Really?terenceanne wrote:Unfortunately I can see PP still on the job.....for half the season maybe.
