Agree with Sluffy. Sounds like whoever takes over will have no money, so why bin a manager with a proven record at this level.

Because any new owner needs the fans onside from the start.

I agree, and would prefer a clean slate. I just think we’ll get another shithouse with no cash.

You're probably right, but if it's a shithouse who tries to win games he will be an improvement.

I think he will still be here. Has experience of getting teams promoted, so probably give him at least the start of the season and see how he does

Just read this morning Lee Bowyer may end up leaving Charlton, anyone take him as next manager? Did a great job at Charlton under similar circumstances to us around dodgy owners and protests and got them promoted.

Change of heart I read... he's signed up for another year

I still feel PP and his staff will be here when the new season starts and it's entirely possible the new owners still won't have been formally confirmed. I'm not being negative with that, it's just a feeling given that there seems to be some kind of unforeseen holdup on completing the deal.
What baffles me is the absolute silence on what that issue is and when we can expect it to be resolved. I realise it's probably minor but recent years have taught me to expect the worst when the club suddenly falls silent on pretty much any financial issue.

I’m not surprised there has been a delay because I thought last friday was an incredibly aggressive deadline. It isn’t unusual at this stage of the process - lawyers will be conducting their obligatory pissing contest on contract language and picking apart every word. Lots of deals fall through at this stage too so I won’t be shocked if that happens. There are other bidders in line though.
