Wanderers don’t have any fresh injury issues ahead of their home clash with Oldham Athletic – but could put new loan signing Peter Kioso straight into action.

Ian Evatt has confirmed that striker Shaun Miller and winger Lloyd Isgrove are likely to spend one more week on a training ground ‘boot camp’ before they are considered fully fit for first team duty.

Others, including club skipper Antoni Sarcevic, are also getting close to full fitness, leaving the Whites coach content with his options.

“We look okay at the moment,” he said. “We were fine last weekend and the lads who haven’t played that much have obviously got more minutes.

“Antoni Sarcevic came through it well. Andrew Tutte, Jak Hickman and Jamie Mascoll are getting fitter, stronger and better and we have got competition for places now.

“We have Shaun Miller and Lloyd Isgrove not too far away and obviously Tom White and Gethin Jones are not as bad as first feared, so once we get the squad back we’ll have real competition for places and strength in depth, which bodes really well for the rest of the season.”

Wanderers are currently sitting 18th in League Two, three points ahead of Oldham, who prop up the table.

The Whites are five points adrift of the play-off places after five games despite making an unbeaten start to September.

Evatt feels his side will improve as time goes on and hopes fans can stay patient as the squad continues to settle.

“We’re certainly not panicking as a coaching team,” he said. “There’s development and progression and we could see that even though there was an element of frustration about not winning the game against Grimsby last weekend.

“This is a wide-open division at the moment and I don’t think, as it stands, that there are any stand-out teams, including ourselves. That doesn’t mean I think we won’t be eventually, I think we will, but it’s more of a slow burner than we initially thought.”
