Another tough game tonight against a side who are currently third in the table. I can see it being a tight affair again with not many goals in it. Head says draw but hearts says 1-0 to the Super Whites.

It should be a good game and we need to be careful especially  if Wes Hoolahan plays - always rated him and Mullin is scoring for fun. Could go either way but I really think we need the win more than they do.

I think we could be in trouble if we son't score fairly early on, or at least the first half.

Preview: Bolton Wanderers vs. Cambridge United

On the 75th anniversary of the Burnden Park Disaster, Bolton Wanderers Football Club host Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two action at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Pre-Match Quotes:

Ian Evatt: “It’s absolutely heartbreaking to think that people went to watch a football match and didn’t go home again. That is really, really heartbreaking and sad.

"For the 75th anniversary, we want to go out there and perform to the level to give them the respect and the memory that they deserve and that’s as far as it goes.

"We understand the importance of it, we understand the importance of the occasion, and we want to go out there and win.

“The players are all aware of it, of course. They will be wearing black armbands, there will be a minute’s silence and the players want to go out there and perform to the best levels they can for a number of reasons and that is the main reason.

“We can’t forget and we never will forget. Those 33 names will live long in the memory of this football club as part of our existence and rightly so.”

On Tonight’s Opponents: “They’re dangerous, they’ve got some threats. Paul Mullin is having the season of his life, he scored an exceptional goal on Saturday.

"A player that I played with, Wes Hoolahan, is a fantastically talented footballer. They’ve got some good players. We have to respect that, but also it’s about doing what we want.

"I heard Pep (Guardiola) say it yesterday and I see it the same way, is if we can limit the opposition having the ball by ourselves having the ball, that is the best way to defend.

"If we can have the ball and control possession and control the tempo and speed of the game, it will limit their opportunities, and that’s what we need to do, avoid giving away sloppy passes, avoid too many transitions, just keep probing, keep patient, be really reliable in possession and therefore limiting the opposition chances to hurt us.”

Mark Bonnar: “They’re well-resourced, they’ve got good facilities, and they shouldn’t be at the level.

“There’s pressure on them to get out of this level obviously, and they expect that of themselves.

“It’s no shock to see the run they’ve been going on and where they find themselves in the form table. It makes it a really tough game for us.

"For us it’s one to be excited by, to go and see how we can compete with them.

“The fact that we’re playing against them in a game that is at the top of this table, I think that’s a really exciting position to be in.

“We’ve got to try the best we can, work as hard as we can, give everything we’ve got, and we’ll see where we end up at the end of it. Then we’ll deal with the next game as it comes in front of us after that.”

How to Watch:

Wanderers’ supporters can watch the game against Cambridge United by purchasing an iFollow BWFC video match pass for just £10 you don’t have to miss a kick.

An iFollow BWFC video match pass will ensure supporters do not miss a minute of the action, with the entire match streamed through any compatible laptop, computer, tablet, or mobile device in the United Kingdom.

Team News:

Ian Evatt has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Tuesday night’s game as Bolton Wanderers look to get back on the winning track after Saturday’s draw at Bradford City.

Mark Bonner has revealed that United picked up a few knocks over the weekend and are a bit light heading into the game at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Bookies Odds:

Bradford City win: 21/20

Draw: 23/10

Cambridge United win: 5/2

Correct as of 9/3/2021 (12pm) on skybet.com

Form:

Saturday’s draw against Bradford City brought an end to Wanderers six-game winning streak. However, Wanderers arguably put on their best display of the season at Valley Parade and were unlucky not to make it another victory.

Cambridge have won three out of their last six games, beating Walsall at the weekend to strengthen their position in the automatic promotions places.

Last time out:

Antoni Sarcevic’s goal eight minutes from time earned Bolton Wanderers a point at the Abbey Stadium after they came from behind to cancel out an own goal by ‘keeper Billy Crellin.

Cambridge were riding high in the table but were kept at bay for the majority of the game with Wanderers unfortunate not to win.

Match Officials:

Referee: Peter Wright.

Assistant Referees: Ravel Cheosiaua and Robert Atkin.

Fourth Official: Andy Haines.

Find the game as if you are placing a bet and nearer the time it will let you click on a link to watch. I did this on Saturday watching St Pauli, the video on my laptop was quite small though!

I’m sticking with I follow so that I can contribute albeit in a small way to the club. So far this season I reckon I’ve bought Maddison a khaki left boot but he’s yet to wear it.

Commanding 80 minutes then a nervy end from a silly mistake, but some great football. No way is there 3 better teams in this league.
