As I've said several times if you want to believe, dozens, hundreds or even thousands of people are avidly following this and other threads, then that's up to you, the reality is that the forum (all forums not just Nuts) are 'trawled' by all sorts of non human, automated processes to do, whatever it is they are designed to do.

Ask yourself the question IF it really is such an illuminating subject that loads and loads of real people are genuinely interested in, then why has no one single person of this multitude of folks following all this joined in to ask any questions at all or stated what they thought had happened?

Don't be daft, Sluffy, everyone knows what social media is like. I once described it as being like car boot sales. Mostly a waste of time and effort but occasionally finding summat worth summat.
 
Its what makes it worthwhile and seems particularly popular with tugboats for some reason.

P.S. I decided to stick to tugboats because I like the word. Its a much nicer word than bots imo.

That's how the world is now though, most people can't think for themselves, they are 'influenced' what to think simply by surrounding themselves with people who think the same way as they do, they 'group think' the same way and anybody who doesn't is wrong!

It seems to me, Sluffy, that footie forums are mainly populated by folk who want to have their prejudices re-inforced by similarly prejudiced individuals. Some get really upset when those prejudices are questioned or challenged. Diddums, I say.

Eddie Davies was a fellow Wanderers fan and a contemporary who  plainly wanted to be remembered for the things he had achieved in life.

The last few years of Eddie and Sue's life though must have been fraught with stress and anxiety with most of Eddie's money spent on BWFC and with no certainty of the club's survival.

Except for Eddie's continued support from his severely depleted fortune, the club was in the sole hands of Ken Anderson when Eddie made his last will and testament just six months before he died.

He left all his personal assets to his wife unless she pre-deceased him. That is not especially unusual but, nota bene, it can cause particular issues where there are children and grandchildren from a previous marriage or relationship.

So what happened next? Tbc maybe.

That is simply life being reproduced on social media not in this case social media influencing life.

We experienced the same things of fan hatred of club owners long before social media was invented - I myself may even have been influenced by such things when I was younger watching the grown ups showing their anger at games - I remember the chanting against the then manager Bill Ridding for instance.

The difference for me at least with social media (and growing up and learning about human behaviour and having been trained in relevant fields) is to be able to try to explain to the masses that their views and opinions based on nothing more than emotions, hatred and being part of the collective, doesn't mean that their view is always the right one and sometimes as in this case can be factually disproved.

I've also learned over the years that the majority of people simply don't like to be proven wrong - even on the internet.

This doesn't bother me.

I'm not a sheep who feels the need to be part of a flock and I'm not an evangelist who feels the need to bring the truth into everyone's life.

I'm just an observer who try's to help anyone who wants my help and laugh at anyone who try's to have a pop at me such as Wanderlust and latterly yourself.

At the end of the day football is just a GAME.

It shouldn't be so important in anyone's life, it is just an entertainment or a hobby - not a religion, not a calling, not a vocation.

If people want to dedicate their lives to it then that's up to them but is it any different than people wasting their lives watching TV soap operas or stamp collecting or believing that someone created the world in seven days?

Isn't this and everything else somehow bizarre?

It is to me anyway.

All that matters is the here and now with your family and friends - why else are we here for - have we really been created over millenniums simply to tell lies or try to change peoples view of someone on a football forum?

I don't think so.

I can't take the internet seriously and God help those who clearly do.

Unfortunately for me, that is nearly everyone else - and that is why that it is ME that is out of step with the rest of the world.
