No time to catch your breath - only 3 days before the next "must-win" encounter, this time against the team occupying the 6th place slot we covet - the Seagulls. It's a fair old stretch to 6th place. Brighton have 5 points advantage plus a game in hand so potentially 8 points to pull back on them - hence the "must-win". Just to complicate matters, Leeds may be behind us, but they also have a game in hand so we can't step off the gas for a second.
Whilst our results have been great recently and there have been some excellent individual performances, it's been a scary ride - far too close for comfort in some games and they don't come any closer than getting a last minute winner, so our team performances still inspire more faith and hope than confidence.
I reckon Dougie will be giving the lads a rocket if not the full hairdryer after last night and we'll go into the game all guns blazing. Two mobile strikers to start.
My prediction: Heart says 2 - 1. Head says 1 - 1.

Expect Kevin Davies to play - after all Brighton's centre back is non other than...

Mathew Upson!

FIVE wins on the spin?! Could we actually do it? I hope so, but I'm going to go for a 2-2 draw. It would actually still be a good result.

3-0. Brighton are poor, they're only up there due to a decent home record.
I don't fear them one bit

Like Triumph said, Brighton arent the same side that tore us to pieces all game earlier in the season. They're very suspect defensively, and I think we can definitely beat them.

2-0 - Eagles Brace.

I think we are underestimating brighton, they are on a similar run to us, having lost once in their last 6 games, playing the best football in the leauge this season behind Watford.
Not to be a party pooper but I would be happy with a point as I expect our winning run to come to a halt.

So far nobody has predicted we'll lose. Confidence in the team and manager hasn't been this high for an eternity it seems. I'm still in shock that Ms Whittam felt that at no point during last night's game did she think we'd lose to Blackburn (even though they hit the bar twice)!
Interesting that our confidence is founded on results rather than performances.

Really? I felt we lacked the cutting edge from our midfield which nearly cost us the win. SKD played quite well I thought?

We'll tell the lads to think of it as an F.A. Cup game! Surprised

I lent my mate my ST last night. He works every saturday and can only make midweek games. He reckons SKD worked really hard last night. If Upson is playing on Saturday then it may be worth sticking with SKD because he was his nemesis whenever he played for West Ham.

Really don't think SKD will start against Brighton, I think it was Dougie's rotation and we'll revert to Craig Davies and N'gog against Brighton

Tough game but i think we'll scrape it. Gritty first half with both teams having few chances then BOOM! N'gog scores a lee cross in the 75th minute. Dawson then scores from a corner in the 82nd to secure the points

Brighton absolutely battered us at their place and their form is very good right now so it won't be easy. If we play the same team and tactics as last night I doubt we'll get the 3 points.

Brighton are an open passing side. They will create chances but as long as we go at them I feel we can win this one.

This game screams of when we played Blackpool at the Reebok. Brighton will be as open as it gets, and it should be avery entertaining game. I just hope we're the one hitting the back of the net.
