Wanderers’ under-18s travel to the Black Country this weekend to face Wolverhampton Wanderers with the club’s young side eager to get back to winning ways after a 4-1 defeat at home to Sunderland last week.

Ironically, it was a 4-1 win against their Wolves counterparts back before Christmas that turned around the Whites’ fortunes and kick-started the season for David Lee and Tony Kelly’s youngsters with Wanderers no doubt keen for a similar result in the return fixture this Saturday.

Heading into the game off the back of defeat against Sunderland last Saturday, it was a game in which Bolton did pull themselves back on level terms through a James Ball header after going behind early on but the Black Cats produced an inspired second half performance to run out winners in BL6.

Wolves themselves have not won at home since November then they beat Middlesbrough by a single goal, with their last outing proving to be a thriller as they surrendered a three goal lead away at Blackburn with the game eventually finishing 4-4.

The Molineux outfit’s coach Mick Halsall will be wary of the threat which Wanderers pose in terms of their array of attacking options, with Jamie Thomas, Will Abbotts and Spaniard Guillermo Torres having all showcased their abilities in front of goal this season.
