I would rather try and offer CYL a new deal on better terms then if that is the case.

With Medo gone, Spearing apparently on his way and perhaps CYL through the door also- that frees up a lot of money in terms of salary costs as these three were big earners.
It might mean that Lennon has quite a big budget to bring some others in. It must be something like £80,000 to £100,000 a week saved

The point is he's on big money and he'll leave for nothing at the end of the season. If we were chasing promotion we might let that happen, but as we're not the priority is getting anything we can for him. He'll also free up some wages for loans before the end of the season.

If clubs aren't willing to pay a fee as well as his extortionate wage demands, he could be willing to sign a pre contract agreement and just leave for nothing anyway. The club probably just want to get something, even if it is derisory.

It surely can't be right that Jordon Mutch has signed for Palace from QPR for £4.75m whilst CYL's market value is £1 million or less! I know which player I'd prefer!

We seem to nearly always get shit on with transfer window deals.
