Apparently we are in talks with middlesbrough over the signing of this lad. He's a decent striker and was on fire for boro in the first half of last season.

I hope this comes off!

Would Boro be letting him go if he was any good?

Hasn't he been there a while and mostly been shite?

He started off the season like a goal machine but when Boros form dipped his seemed to do aswell.

Better than Ngog and Sordell, probably one of the most lethal strikers on his day in this league.

His scoring record is pretty poor. He's had one good season really.

Not sure he's any better than what we have.

'on his day'? - maybe he's 'had that day' and that's why Boro want to get rid.

He has pace, he's already better than our strikers

They don't want rid, he wants out

Never been convinced by him to be honest, plenty of pace but not a great finisher.

Went to Boro last season and he looked a threat in that game, decent pace and quite direct.

Didn't he get subbed and the guy who came on for him scored the 2 goals that beat us? Maybe we should be looking at that bloke?

Scott McDonald?

I'm Glad you aren't the manager

Article dated 18th April, 2013.

MARVIN Emnes could still be a key Boro player nest season, Tony Mowbray revealed today.

The Dutch playmaker has failed to reproduce the form he showed last season, leading to speculation that the club had all but washed their hands of the mercurial 24-year-old.

While refusing to rule out the possibility of a summer sale, Mowbray remains hopeful that Emnes can overcome his malaise and become the gamechanger Boro have been crying out for.

He said: “It’s been a long road back for Marvin and he has, in my mind, a part to play because he is technically our most talented forward player.

“We have to get something more out of Marvin before the season ends. He scored 18 goals last season but just four or five this season, it’s not enough and Marvin knows that.

“We’ve had a lot of conversations with Marvin, he’s a nice boy, a nice kid,” added Mowbray. “His confidence levels are susceptible to going up and down. He needs support and at times he’s been a target this season.

“But we like Marvin and we need to try and get him going but it’s been difficult. He is a game changer last year - he hasn’t become a bad player.

“But young footballers, relatively young footballers; there are lots of things going on in their lives.

We need to iron out the issues and get him back playing how we know he can.”

Boro are believed to have turned down a £5m bid for Emnes last summer, (Sluffy - believed to be from Swansea) basing their decision on fact that he was the club’s top scorer and most potent attacking threat last season.

Asked if Emnes would be a Boro player next season, Mowbray answered: “Let’s wait and see, it’s too early to say.

“He’s under contract, we are aware of certain clubs interested in Marvin.

“But we will wait and see and make decisions if and when we have to.”

Seems to have 'personal' issues and a loan to Swansea was ended because of them.

Our 'Boo boys' are just going to love him!
