Only 40 or so people in the pub last night including 5 of us who went in for a few pints after the footie. Felt weird as the band were doing their best to get the place rocking but folk were just standing around chatting and largely ignoring them. Surprised the crowd was so small - usually 100 or so in on Fridays - especially as there are still no confirmed cases out of a population of 900K in Norfolk.
I'm guessing that Norfolk will be the last place to get it and the last place to get rid of it.

No need to panic, says ex-patient -

One of the first people in Scotland to contract Covid-19 has told the BBC about his recovery from the disease.

The man, in his 50s, was diagnosed almost two weeks ago following a trip to Italy. He returned home on 25 February, a Tuesday.

"I felt no symptoms. I was completely fine and went to work on the Wednesday and Thursday. Later on the Thursday evening, I started to feel a bit of a flu coming on. I had a mild fever, I felt shivery - but the biggest symptom was aches and pains, particularly in my legs.

"I was feverish. That continued through Thursday night and I didn't sleep too well."

On 1 March, he was diagnosed and hospitalised. But from this point on, he said his symptoms did not develop any further.

"By the time I went to hospital, I was feeling fine. The mild flu symptoms quickly dissipated, I had no leg pain, no fever, no cough and no shortness of breath."

He said he wanted to tell his story to the BBC so that people did not panic about exposure to the disease.

What does it feel like to have coronavirus?

The patient asked to tell his story to the BBC during the virus crisis so that people do not panic over exposure to the disease.
He said that while some the virus might be much more serious, for most people it would be a mild illness.
He said: "I think I am fairly normal. The vast majority of the population will experience what I have experienced.
"It is something that is short-lived and you can recover from it fully. That's how people should be viewing this.
"For many, it is nothing more than a bad cold, really."
He urged people to take time to read the advice from public health professionals.
He said: "The information is spot-on but you really do need to take the time to read it and be aware of what it is asking of you.

Spot on.

The "reputation" of the virus seems to be far worse than the reality.

If this was 1940 do you think the population would be in a panic? Would they fook.

I blame the internet.

Two people in the Fylde.

That's apart from all the ones they don't know about.

I went to Blackpool Victoria on Thursday for a check-up before I got my next two week course of Chemo tablets.

I asked the specialist nurse what provision had been made for serious coronavirus patients.  She said that there was a special isolation unit that contained 8 beds.

I resisted making a smart comment, as I'm sure she was probaly thinking the same as me.

Just spotted a bloke in the supermarket buying a full box of dove soap bars at the till.

There must have been 48 individual bars in it.

So much for limiting customers!

I found 12 bars of Cidal anti bacterial soap under the sink. I was only looking for Brillo pads. God knows what else is under there.

We still have some Sunlight soap so we should be good to go.

Wash your clothes, wash your arse, it all does the same thing! Very Happy

A mate of mine used to use sulphur soap, and what a stink it gave off. Supposed to be good for the skin though.
