I never went in the Sweet Green, I preferred the Painters arms.

Anyone remember the Sunnyside Inn up Daubhill? It used to have a bowling green and the Landlord was a bloke called Ernie who was a big cricket fan. It always did well at lunchtime with the workers from the nearby textile mill. I'm pretty sure it's no longer there but I haven't ventured up Daubhill for quite some time.

The last time I was up there I went to a 90th birthday party at the Gilnow Arms and the landlord was former pub doorman, Barrie Winnard.
