Transfer Rumour Update: Tyrone Barnett

According to the Peterborough Telegraph we have expressed an interest in their striker: Tyrone Barnett. Barnett has been transfer listed but has scored twice this season already. However, Blackburn, Blackpool and Barnsley have also expressed an interest aswell.

Darren Ferguson had this to say: 

"Bolton manager Dougie Freedman has been in touch about Tyrone, but he doesn’t have the money right now."


“There’s been interest in Tyrone form several Championship clubs, but no-one has matched our valuation.”

I suspect there valuation will be around £1million after that is what they paid Crawley for him last year

He was transfer listed with a few other Peterborough players last year for breaching club discipline, think he was again when they got relegated. Don't know anything about him to be honest, but certainly doesn't sounds like an improvement on what we have.

I was captain of my local pub team, and I got knockout of the year once, I was so proud going to receive my trophy at the presentation .

We used to ruff the other team up, other pubs hated playing us.

Dougie enquiring about a player who he can't afford?, what's the point? and then he complains about Forest buying players. Maybe we would have some money if our beloved Chairman hadn't agreed deals which have put the club into 135 million worth of debt. How many players has Freedman brought into the club in the last year?

The point of an enquiry is to find out what the price is.

It's nothing to do with not having money, Forest have side stepped the FFP rules because their owners have sponsored the club and injected money into it that way, it counts as a revenue stream not as investment from the owners. Man City and Monaco do the same thing. We haven't done that so we can't spend the money.

Where did I (or anyone else) say Forest have broken the rules? 

FFP is an important topic at the moment, is the manager not allowed to talk about that now?

Freedman says Forest have 'side stepped the rules'. Bolton can do the same thing but don't. Remember when Dougie could have extended to loan of Dawson and didn't? Would we still be playing in the Championship if he had 'legally' extended that loan? The rules are there to be adhered to, just like when the league changed the rule on players not involved in the play and Big Sam would put Nolan ten yards in front of everybody else on freekicks. Didn't break the rules. Forest have played by the rules and Freedman sounds to be looking for excuses before a ball has been kicked.

Freedman out !!!
