Transfer Rumour Update: Jermaine Beckford

According to reports Dougie wants Jermaine Beckford to 'fire' Bolton to promotion next season.

He has scored 8 in 21 for struggling Huddersfield this season.

Don't know what to think of this really

Got ability and a bit of pace, comes with baggage though as he's another one that thinks the universe revolves around him. If the price is right definitely worth a gamble, good finisher.

He has attitude problems, don't think he'd really be a good fit for us really.

Well we do need a striker that scores goals but I dont think he will be it.

Still if he could also get Dwight Gayle to play together with Beckford, theres a lot of goals in them two.

I'd take a punt if the price was right to be honest, proven goal scorer at this level, i'm sure Douglas can control his attitude problems.

Beckford didn't do a lot at Everton and they got shut of him pretty quick!

He is good enough at Championship level.When I have seen him score i have been impressed..Not Premiership level but worth a go at getting us back up.Better than Sordell,N,gog at finishing and with Eagles and Mark Davies adding to when fit I'd say IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

With our midfield behind him, I'd expect Beckford to do well for us at this level. No need to overspend on him though, as Born said, only if the price is right, otherwise, look elsewhere.

Indeed Beckford scored againsqt us after an almighty cock up by Chungy. His first league goal for Everton (In November!). Signed on a free transfer Everton moved him on as soon as somebody waived a cheque book about. Didn't last long at Leicester either. Draw your own conclusions.

That's why he is worth a gamble in the Championship.We have no proven strikers take away penaltys and how many did KD,Sordell,N,gog score between themselves not many over ten.Thats Apalling.DF must see that.

Well if not him then a proven goal scorer.Or it will be the same again but I trust DF to get rid of the right players and have a good team together by August.

I take your point about our current strikers but do not think Beckford is the answer going forward.

I actually think Beckford would be a shrewd signing by Dougie. I think a C Davies and a Jermaine Beckford partnership would be more than decent in the Championship.

Beckford wouldn't cost much in fees and the club will pay his wages no problem.

Sordell and N'Gog really haven't done it for me and I wouldn't be surprised If one of them is sold this summer.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both Sordell and Ngog going. Neither inspire confidence, and neither appear to be able to partner anyone else. No real options but to move at least one of them on, (probably Sordell)
