What's a development contract?

Have we got to feed him up and get him through his English GCSE re-sit....?

He's 21- he should have made the grade by now and not need any development. There are players years younger than him who are full fledged England internationals

But great we're getting in players for the future and not a striker for now. ;-)

The lad can play either centre back or right back, he is also 20 years of age (my mistake) as he hasn't had his BDay yet Razz

I think we'll get a striker in before the end of the window, picking up a youth player isn't going to have a baring on the budget.

Quade Taylor joins Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Quade Taylor on a one-year deal.

The 20-year-old defender was most recently on the books of Crystal Palace having signed for the Eagles in 2011.

Prior to his spell at Selhurst Park, he spent time with non-league Dulwich Hamlet and also enjoyed a brief stint with Welling United in the latter stages of the 2013/14 campaign.

Makes you question the scouting policy when Dougie keeps going back to Palace players past and current? There are other sides out there, many of which aren't in London Town

But I guess these are all players he has worked with in the past so has clearly seen something which makes him think they'll do well at Bolton

I think most managers do the same, its people they know and less of a risk in their eyes

I think you'll find that's closed minded to look or take a chance anywhere else.

Maybe so but I remember one manager we got from Millwall bringing a couple of players with him, one called Keith Branagan and the other John McGinlay.

They didn't turn out to be too bad!
