I think a lot of managers are put off by the finances and the woeful state of affairs that has been getting gradually worse over the last decade on and off the pitch. I don't think any manager really worth his salt would want to work under the restrictions we have to operate under right now and I can't see it changing any time soon. Whether we like it or not we are NOT a big club to begin with; add in the way we have to keep shedding more wages off the bill and that we're reportedly unable to afford even a modest one million pounds for the Juke let alone bring in anyone of really high quality and you have a conundrum that would test Stephen Hawking let alone an average football manager.

I think we CAN do much better than DF but it would need a manager who's really up for the challenge and knows how to work on a tiny (almost non-existent) budget AND who can get the very best out of what are for the most part a group of average to mediocre players. About the only time I can think of someone who did that in my lifetime it was the partnership between the late Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.

Billy Davies and Alan Irvine may be decent, even good managers at this level but they would really struggle to get the mess straightened out after a decade of mismanagement both on and off the field that makes Lehman Brothers look like they were geniuses.

When was the last time a club got promoted whilst actively seeking to cut the wage bill? I can't think of one. The most important thing is to steady the ship and lay the foundations for a sustainable club. Fans don't like that, they want instant success. But signing good value players and bringing through youth is part of a long term plan to get us back up.

Who weren't actively seeking to reduce the wage bill, they lost Austin because he had a better offer not because they needed to shed the wages.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for next season, he has two games before I jump on his back.

It's a shit job. Df is the only one with the balls to take it on.

But even if Freedman had Ronaldo, Bale and Messi at his disposal he'd play them out of position or leave two of them on the bench just so he could play his favoured negative tactics.

We could compete, but we won't.

Correct you are ....

For the sake of a lousy 5 mill we could have Juke at 1.5 plus three or four others for the remaining 3.5 mill

That would put a challenging team up .....in theory.

Not a bad investment to get back to the Prem for a piece of those untold bazillions

We can take that money right out of Phil's pension fund without making a dent.   Problem solved  pirat

Dougie doesn't need forwards. It doesn't fit in with his philosophy.

So does everyone agree that he needs to be relieved of his duty as BWFC manager ?

I think he's had more than enough time to sort it out , we've gone backwards.

Sorry won't happen. I believe his contract is up at the end of the season and if we avoid relegation I expect him to get another!! We have found our level now and it's all about brain washing G any fans with less than half a brain to belive it!!!!
Duggy=doing as he is told, and that's good enough for fat face and  manx  man.

You would imagine something is a foot if both the chairman and owner were at the game - ED rarely goes to the home games let alone away.

Something has to give, this can't carry on.

No, he's rarely been seen at the ground in the last couple of seasons apparently.
