Don't let Bonce bully you. By all means donate to the cause, but don't feel you must buy a poppy.

To reiterate, I choose to wear one and contribute, but don't believe my personal choice is something to impose on others. Re right way to wear one, as I laid the wreaths formally in my previous role, it is as below.

You should wear your poppy on their right side if a woman, left, above the heart if a man; the red represents the blood of all those who gave their lives, the black represents the mourning of those who didn't have their loved ones return home, and the green leaf represents the grass and crops growing and future prosperity after the war destroyed so much. The leaf should be positioned at 11 o'clock to represent the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the time that World War One formally ended

So what do people think about the white poppy campaign?
Does wearing a red poppy mean you're pro-war?
Or wearing a white poppy mean you're disrespecting the military?

Don't know why people get wound up by the white poppy, why can't people be anti-war and commemorate the dead?

Excellent description Manda. Didn't know the proper meaning of the leaf though, only where it should be positioned.
Surrender poppies are for the Pompous Cnuts brigade, yet another symbol of their Chamberlain like appeasement and sitting on the fence. It's worse than not recognising in my book.

You'd rather people didn't commemorate the dead? Than commemorate them whilst promoting peace?

Strange values to hold.

Promoting peace is it? Says the person who loves conflict from behind a keyboard!!!
Cowardly values to hold.
