Fault at a junction since Christmas Eve means I have no phone or internet connection and it could possibly be 31/12/13 before it is even fixed (or even later)

So keep chasing for updates and asking to be put through to someon in Britain - been flatly refused each time - I thought that was against the law.

Now 3 days with no connection (at home) and its driving me, and the better half, mad - I have no outside line so if there was any emergency I can't even dial 999 (I have already tried it!!)

It means I can't do any business, do any any banking or even Skype the fiance's family back in Germany!!!

Would a business be treated like this, no so why should a personal customer?  All customers should be treated the same.

Strong letter of complaint to BT, MP, OFCOM and any other regulatory authority!!  Already started my compensation claim letter - I will get something from them!

Word to the wise, unless you want to deal with callcentres overseas who know nothing about Christmas, its traditions or teh dangers it can bring and are only told to say phrases like "happy Holidays" then stay away from them!!!!

"(can't) even Skype the fiance's family back in Germany!!!

That would be a good thing, surely....?

(And unless you're engaged to a bloke, it should be fiancée.)

How do you justify £100 an hour?

Quote them that but it will get rounded down to possibly number of days loss - but will also mean they will have to repair the fault asap before its costs them!!!!

I bet that not being able to wind up every man and his dog on the Bolton News site is the real frustration here....

It must be killing you, not being able to complain about the trains for a few days...... Very Happy

On a lighter note, BWFC71 will be pleased to know that Preston Bus Station has had a stay of execution.

BT are shite. They provide the worst customer service and are expensive. I don't know why anyone still uses them.

The most you will get is a partial refund on your monthly charge if you call them up when your line is back up.

It wouldn't surprise me if they had a service status webpage to let you know what is happening.

Do you not have a smartphone with mobile data?

I'm getting seriously pissed off with our new BT Vision package. The phone and broadband have been fine, but the BT vision box is utter shite! The box constantly freezes, which is an absolute pain in the arse! I'm going to ring BT and if I don't get any joy, I'm going back to Sky, even if I have to pay a cancellation fee with BT.
