Just bought the complete Captain Pugwash series on Prime (£4.99), and it turns out to be the modernised version. I'm fuming.
Luckily the old series is available on youtube so I can watch it there.
Had a similar issue with Bill and Ben, The Flowerpot Men.

And yet, as a kid, I seem to remember Master Bates. But maybe it's wishful thinking. Would love them to have gotten away with it.

Fwiw Bates was a character in the Onedin Line, who was the ships mate and later on became the captain of a ship, so I guess he probably started someone's mind ticking and Master Bates was born.
