How many times have you watched them to deem them potential?

I haven't seen any of them play but I have heard good reports about Iliev and Blakeman from someone who has watched reserve games.

If they're good enough they're old enough. etc etc..

Our under 18's are currently second in their league. Having played 14 games they have won 10, drawn 3 and lost 1. They are well ahead of Arsenal under 18's who are normally the yardstick for furure talent.

Didn't our under 18's get promoted to category A, along with reading. I'm sure they lost the first game against united?

You tell her, RT. Lester has been on first team bench already this season and Iliev has been scoring goals for fun for the U18's. Clough and Blakeman are widely regarded by people in football as strong talents for the near future. I hadn't even mentioned Odelusi Sanmi, Tom Eaves & Jack Sampson. The future's bright, the futures White!Cool

The winger we're interested in is albert adomah from Bristol city.

With palace already having had two bids of 1 and 1.5 million rejected it is thought we are going to make an offer within the next two days.

2million should do it.

Stoke also interested in jedinak, could this force dougies hand.

I doubt we can afford both adomah and jedinak though.

No chance are Stoke in for Jedinak!

Doubt we'll make a move for him before summer now anyway, this Adomah sounds decent though. Bristol City's best player supposedly. I like this transfer policy, taking the championships best rather than the Premierships worst is cheaper and better.

Ha ha, where are these "Championship's best" players we've signed?

Can't see us beating Palace in a bidding war and they might get promoted and London always seems more attractive as a location for a young footballer than Bolton for some reason.

According to the BBC the other player Dougie is interested in is "Hamilton Academicals utility player Gary Fraser". Don't know anything about him though.

We are also close to signing 'Cian Bolger' a 20 year old from Leicester.

Dougie's not messing about although I guess this guy is another one for the future!

Adomah, Jedinak and Craig Davies. All of them are highly rated at their clubs. Granted we haven't signed two of them yet but you see my point. I'd rather be signing players like this than N'gog.

I have to say that shopping with no budget is far more interesting than throwing loads of money at obvious expensive players. Far more of a gamble but lots of chances - it's like spread betting. Realistically with the total amount spent we only need one or two to come good to have a bargain on our hands.

Spot on!

As 1874 said, it makes a refreshing change from going for premiership has beens. We've wasted too much money on poor players over the past few years.

Albert Adomah will go for at least £3.5 million - probably more. They've already turned down £3 million in for him the summer and they've seen what happened to Zaha so I suspect he'll be out of our reach. Palace have money to burn so he'll probably go there (if anywhere) to replace Zaha.

£3.5 million is too much.

We have two right wingers already anyway, we need a new left footed player now Petrov has gone.

But before all that we need a right back.

Too true!

Dougie will have to go a long way to equal the stupidity of our last three managers in the transfer market. Most people would probably say Megson was the worst because of the amount of money he wasted but for me Coyle was the worst. Not only did he buy crap players and put them on ridiculous wages but half the time he never even played them (Sordell, etc)

To be fair to Coyle (not a good idea on here) if he had been given the money Megson had we would have stayed up, 2 points off survival with a budget similar to the cost of Elmander. Obviously he should have kept us up anyway but can you imagine how low we would have been under Megson if he had Coyles budget! Most likely would have been on a par with Wolves.

To me Megson we always be the main reason we are in the Championship.
