Mile Jedinak - NIXON

As mentioned in the transfer gossip thread it seems that we are after Palace's defensive midfielder Jedinak - a 28 year old Australian international.

It seems however that this is dependent on the Dawson loan transfer - if we get Dawson on loan we have the money to buy Jedinak for around £1.5 million. If not we may need to spend the money on a new defender.

I'd never heard of Stuart Holden.

But Stuart Holden came from America, not from a club in the same division as us.

I can't say i'd heard of him up until I listened to the game yesterday but the commentators said he was influential in most of Palace's play, power house type player too which is something we are missing in the midfield.

If he was an above average championship player you would probably have heard of him. A good player in America I'd be surprised if you had heard of.

He does the ugly stuff and does it well from what I've seen and read in the past.

The thing is, I have heard of Jedinak, he's got 30 caps for Australia.

He is much better than spearing and Andrews, with Jedinak sitting behind Holden and mavies we will be brilliant to watch.

If we manage to sign Jedinak, Dougie will build the team around him. A quality defensive midfielder is paramount to any team.

Jedinak, is in a different class to Andrews and Spearing.

True, but you yourself have been calling for a leader on the pitch for sometime and judging by some of the palace fans opinions of him and getting more than 30 caps for Australia he may be the leader we have been looking for.

That would be a valid argument if the biggest team makelele played for was palace, not real Madrid.

My point is you'd probably heard of n'gog or keith andrews, but never of Stuart Holden. So it means very little.

I've never seen Messi play in the flesh but I understand he's quite good.
