Genuine question, what did he get his knighthood for, or from ?

If Starmer is the best Labour can offer, then I can't see the party making any, or enough, gains, to put them in a viable position to challenge for government after this current one. Its there for Boris to lose rather than Labour to win.
Also, take a step back and look at the motley crew that's standing for election, the same lot that couldn't manage it when the country was in turmoil, with even their own staunch supporters deserting them.
I almost feel sorry for genuine Labour supporters.

Seems Long Bailey has been being caught out over a number of lies she's said in the past,

She claimed she became a socialist to fight for jobs because as a child she remembers the threat of redundancy hanging over her father  head when he worked at Liverpool Docks.

It turns out Liverpool Docks were closed when Long Bailey was just two and a half years old!

On standing for election she stated she had been a working as solicitor with the NHS for ten years.

It turns out she had only been a solicitor for six and a half years.

She is quoted as saying "I became a solicitor for the NHS to help defend our health service" and also that she became a lawyer "to give something back".

She has never been employed by the NHS!

Well she did rate Corbyn "10 out of 10" as leader so she obviously has only a tenuous grasp on reality.

And she is a bit vague about when she actually joined the Labour party.

Even labour aren't stupid enough to elect her.

There's a difference between being economical with the truth and outright lying.

Labour are a master in the later.

Boris isn't "economical with the truth". He is almost as big a liar as Trump. He has made a career out of lying and been sacked for it more than once.

If we have learned anything it is that the electorate are much more to the center than the current Labour leadership, without a move to the center we might as well just accept Boris gets a second term.

 From those available at least Stamer is a well respected Barrister wich usually means a good mind, so he's my choice to steady this ship.

Momentum have "unanimously" supported RLB and are only now going to consult their members! Such commitment to democracy.

...and for these reasons and his track record of going after corrupt politicians, the right wing are scared shitless of him because they know he's a credible Prime Minister in waiting.

Which is why Cummings, Murdoch and his cronies will do everything they can in the media and online to try to discredit him.

Sorry guys, but as a non-Labour voter, I really can't see him as a PM. He's already showing that he's playing politics by trying to appease all stakeholders rather than committing, even generally, to a particular 'theme' that he would prefer to pursue, (unless I've missed something).
Listened to Thornberry on the Andrew Marr show this morning, and yet again, no substance, lots of rhetoric, but fairly affable. Seems to think she'll get through the first stage though. Back to the Shadow Back Bench for her I would surmise.

I'm always amazed by her misplaced self-confidence.

Momentum are a non entity now.
