Bloody hell Bonce thats daming, worrying and frightening all rolled into one, Tories telling it has it is, fair play to them for that, i hadn't considered amongst the turmoil that she is in charge of the red button.

First thing to do perhaps would be to insist she wears boxing gloves at all times. Just in case she's even more incompetent than people now think.

TBF to her she has been pre-occupied with the cheese crisis.

Obviously it is me that is out of step with the rest of the world I guess.

How the fuck would anyone listen to a talking head on social media and believe what it said was gospel???

Ok I know Wanderlust does but I thought most people had a lot more sense than that.

Do you even know who Peter Oborne is?

No I didn't think so.

Yes he once was the political correspondent at the Telegraph for a time before he turned all David Icke-ish and everybody started to avoid his lunacy.

For instance he believes both Kuenssberg and Peston are both in the pocket of the government - you know the two journalists renowned for giving Ministers a hard grilling!

He also believes Donald Trump is "quite sensible" !!!!!

Did you bother to check what the DDN logo was on the video?

No I don't suspect you did.

It stands for Double Down News and is the left-wing version of GB News and features the likes of Chris Packham, John McDonnell and Guz Khan.

And how many times did Oborne need to shoot his speech - nearly every sentence there were clear cuts and edits to it ffs!

If you want to follow the David Icke of politics that's up to you but did you actually see one single fact that Oborne produced as hard evidence to back up his claims - because I didn't.

Think of it this way, if you pulled the strings of the Conservative Party as Oborne claims some pantomime villains do in his video by spending billions and billions to control everything, then why would you flush all that down the toilet and potentially lose all you've carefully built up over the years and let the Conservative destroy itself and let your mortal enemies the Labour Party in - with all its workers rights and increases in pay by telling Truss to do the mini budget she did???

It doesn't make any rational sense at all does it?

Ok they might make a killing in the short term but lose absolutely loads over the never-ending Socialists governments from now on because Oborne tells us the result of Truss and the mini budget marks the end of the Conservative power forever!

I don't know who is madder, the people spouting such shit in the first place or the people like Wanderlust and you who believe it implicitly without question or even a second thought!

I quite liked Halfon’s description of Truss et al when he described them as “libertarian jihadists treating the country like laboratory mice” as it neatly sums up why the conservatives are doing a screeching u-turn.
Truss was the final straw in making the Tories unelectable, so the brakes have been slammed on by the centrists who have dumped Kwarteng, installed a new de facto centrist prime minister, called in favours in the Tory media, avoided (they hope) a snap general election and are going flat out to salvage their image before 2024.

And not before time - too late to repair the damage but perhaps in time to stop it getting any worse.

Another interminable rant. I almost enjoy them.

You ask if Wessy knows who Peter Oborne is, then kindly answer your own question in the negative.

Pretty soon you'll be talking to yourself for real.

Me too - I always get a mention, and now I’ve got a “team” apparently which is a new addition to my game of Insecurity Bullshit  Bingo alongside:
* social media is a big conspiracy so it doesn’t count
* he/she was once busted for shoplifting/littering/frequenting Bargain Booze bins - so their opinion doesn’t count
* You Voted For It!!!! - so your opinion doesn’t count
* Fake news - it doesn’t count
* let me explain to you how the wheel works….
* Lies! - they don’t count
* You hate the Tories so your opinion doesn’t count
* My sweet nostalgic homily is better than your sweet nostalgic homily
* Questioning my stability is a personal attack - you’re banned again - so your opinion won’t be heard
* I don’t believe your credentials - so your opinion doesn’t count
* you may not not realise it but I’m a bit of an expert on……..

…and now…

* you’re on “team Wanderlust” - so your opinion doesn’t count.

Have I missed any?

Play along if you wish Smile

Oborne is a well respected journalist, with an opinion. That's all.
Accept it. Dismiss it. Whatever. No need to get excited about it Sluffy.
Try to keep it pithy. Pith is the key ingredient.
I know. I'm full of pith, and don't anyone forget it.

Jeremy Hunt is to make an “emergency statement” later today in an attempt to stabilise the markets.

Expect austerity and cutbacks.

That's like asking Edward Scissorhands to jerk you off.

I have to dash so can't give a full reply to this, I'll try to give a fuller one later on if I have the time but ask yourself this question, if Osborne is so respected (remember Icke once was too) then why did he get the shove at the Telegraph, he went to the Mail and he soon got the push from there too, why are his freelance articles now been rejected by all the mainstream national newspapers and why is the best he can now do is to find a home at the looney fringe media DDN?

As for 'knowing' Osborne' I clearly meant by reputation and not personally - you clearly know his past reputation but I'm not sure you are familiar with his current reputation, or you wouldn't be posting as an apparent big admirer of him.

Unless of course you are in the David Icke type fan clubs?

Who said I was an admirer?
I posted his piece because it interested me, and thought others might be interested. He's far from a natural bedfellow, but even people I don't like often come at things from a direction worth paying attention to.
63 might not be a natural fit with me, but I consider him a traditional Tory, with views I can, at the very least, understand, without feeling he was out to start sending children back down chimney's.
We all want what's best for the country, despite coming at things from different directions.
And are you seriously comparing Oborne to Icke?

So there we have it. Hunt reverses most of the budget, Blundertruss is sidelined, 1922 hold meetings to discuss her fate, Backbenchers want her gone…..
So Starmer will ask her to go to the King and ask him to dissolve parliament and call a GE- and she’ll say no thanks because a)I’ll step down but no to a GE as Hunt is the get out clause which may allow us to win in 2024 and b) a GE now is the last thing we want.

Will Truss be found in time for PMQs?

Or is Mordaunt the new pm?

The guarded responses from Mordaunt in pmqs implied that Truss is gone within days.

Hunt warns of further cuts in a fortnight - but banker’s bonuses remain intact and he refuses to impose a windfall tax on energy companies or utilities despite there being still a £40 billion shortfall on expenditure so the austerity measures are likely to be even worse than the first period of Tory austerity.
Additionally, no amount of u-turns can undo the damage to the economy - higher mortgage costs for example are here to stay unfortunately.
